Determinants of vessel defects in superficial and deep vascular layers in normal-tension glaucoma using optical coherence tomography angiography [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
We investigated the characteristics of localized vessel density defects (VD) either in the deep or superficial vascular layer of normal-tension glaucoma patients using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).

Superficial Medial Collateral Ligament Reattachment During High Tibial Osteotomy: Regulate Tension, Preserve Stability! [PDF]

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2019
High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is a commonly performed surgical procedure. Although it is well-known that the superficial medial collateral ligament (sMCL) should be released during HTO, there is still no agreement on performing its reattachment ...

On the Change of Superficial Tension of Solid-Liquid Surfaces with Temperature [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1894
IN a recent very interesting communication to the Birmingham Phil. Soc. (Bir. Phil. Soc. Proc., vol. ix. part 1, 1893), upon the effect of a solid in concentrating a substance out of a solution into the superficial film in accordance with Prof. J. J. Thomson's investigation (“Applications of Dynamics to Physics,” p. 191), Dr.

Efficacy of surgical resection and ultra-reduced tension suture combined with superficial radiation in keloid treatment

open access: yesWorld Journal of Clinical Cases, 2023
BACKGROUND There are many available treatment options for keloid; however, single treatments are usually less effective. Therefore, more scientifically rational and effective combined treatment methods should be sought to solve the pain associated with keloids.

A Study of Uniaxial Tension on the Superficial Dermal Microvasculature

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1984
A spring-loaded apparatus was designed to apply uniaxial tension to forearm skin in 17 human subjects--10 normals, 6 psoriatics, and 1 patient with scleroderma. Simultaneously, the effects of stretching on the upper dermal vasculature were observed stereomicroscopically.

Tension Neuropathy of the Superficial Peroneal Nerve: Associated Conditions and Results of Release

open access: yesFoot & Ankle International, 1999
We reviewed eight patients who sustained superficial peroneal nerve neuralgia after an inversion ankle sprain. Surgical exploration found anatomic abnormalities that tethered the nerve from movement during plantarflexion and inversion of the ankle. Most patients' pain improved dramatically after release and anterior transposition of the nerve.

Islanded Superficial Temporal Artery Fasciocutaneous Flap in Temporal Hairline Reconstruction Following Skin Cancer: A Novel Approach [PDF]

open access: yesPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Global Open
Summary:. Skin cancer defects spanning the temporal hairline present unique challenges. The junction between hair-bearing and non–hair-bearing skin is not a straight line, making it difficult to recruit hair-bearing scalp tissue to precisely fit its ...
