Preventing Postpartum Venous Thromboembolism With Low‐Molecular‐Weight Heparin: The PP‐HEP Pilot Randomised Controlled Trial

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, Volume 132, Issue 1, Page 35-43, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Uncertainty surrounds the risk–benefit of low‐molecular‐weight heparin to prevent postpartum venous thromboembolism (VTE). Data from randomised clinical trials (RCT) are critically needed, but recent feasibility studies in North America yielded low participation rates, with <1 enrolment per month per centre. Our aim was to assess the

When Choosing Plausible Alternatives, Clever Hans can be Clever [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Pretrained language models, such as BERT and RoBERTa, have shown large improvements in the commonsense reasoning benchmark COPA. However, recent work found that many improvements in benchmarks of natural language understanding are not due to models learning the task, but due to their increasing ability to exploit superficial cues, such as tokens that ...

Protein S Deficiency in Repetitive Superficial Thrombophlebitis

open access: yesClinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis, 2003
Protein S deficiency is one of the principal congenital thrombophilias reported. The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of protein S deficiency in patients with repetitive superficial thrombophlebitis. Thirty-six consecutive patients, 28 female and eight male, who presented with repetitive superficial thrombophlebitis (two or more ...

Lattice Fluctuations Spectrum Calculation for P-dihlorbenzol Nanocrystals [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We have measured spectra of lattice fluctuations in p-dihlorbenzol nanoparticles of ~300nm size. Calculations of lattice frequencies and of these fluctuations in nanoparticles are done. It is shown that with reduction of nanoparticles sizes the spectrum of superficial fluctuations becomes prevailing.
