Locally Supersymmetric Effective Field Theories of Inflation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Supergravity, a locally supersymmetric gauge theory, may provide to describe new physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM). In this sense, cosmological applications of supergravity can be the arena for probing outcomes of supergravity. It is also attractive that supergravity can appear as a low-energy effective theory of superstrings, a possible ...

Enumerating Calabi‐Yau Manifolds: Placing Bounds on the Number of Diffeomorphism Classes in the Kreuzer‐Skarke List

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 5, May 2024.
Abstract The diffeomorphism class of simply connected smooth Calabi‐Yau threefolds with torsion‐free cohomology is determined via certain basic topological invariants: the Hodge numbers, the triple intersection form, and the second Chern class.

New models of chaotic inflation in supergravity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2010
We introduce a new class of models of chaotic inflation inspired by the superconformal approach to supergravity. This class of models allows a functional freedom of choice of the inflaton potential V = |f( )|^2. The simplest model of this type has a quadratic potential m^2 ^2/2.

N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 7 On-shell diagrams and supergravity amplitudes in momentum twistor space

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We derive an on-shell diagram recursion for tree-level scattering amplitudes in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 7 supergravity. The diagrams are evaluated in terms of Grassmannian integrals and momentum twistors, generalising previous results of Hodges in momentum

Introduction to Supergravities in Diverse Dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
Supergravities in four and higher dimensions are reviewed. We discuss the action and its local symmetries of N=1 supergravity in four dimensions, possible types of spinors in various dimensions, field contents of supergravity multiplets, non-compact bosonic symmetries, non-linear sigma models, duality symmetries of antisymmetric tensor fields and super

Exploring T‐Duality for Self‐Dual Fields

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 5, May 2024.
Abstract Avatars of T‐duality within Sen's formalism for self‐dual field strengths in various dimensions are studied. This formalism is shown to naturally accommodate the T‐duality relation between Type IIA/IIB theories when compactified on a circle without the need for imposing the self‐duality constraint by hand, as is usually done. The study of this

Supersymmetric spacetimes in (2+1) adS-supergravity models [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We find a class of (2+1)-dimensional spacetimes admitting Killing spinors appropriate to (2,0) adS-supergravity. The vacuum spacetimes include anti-de Sitter (adS) space and charged extreme black holes, but there are many others, including spacetimes of ...

Cosmological constraints on supergravity models [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1985
Abstract We delineate the domain of supersymmetry breaking parameters in minimal supergravity models for which the cosmological relic photino density is no larger than the closure density. Demanding that the relic density equal the closure density as suggested by inflationary cosmology suggests m q ∼ 42 GeV + 0.89 m g ...

Cosmological Constant and Supergravity Soft Terms [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1994
In supergravity models, the quantum correction to the vacuum energy can be of order $M_I^4$, if the cutoff is of order the Planck mass $M^2_{P}$ and $Str\ {\cal M}^2\ne 0$. Therefore, the tree level cosmological constant must be nonzero (probably negative).

Some recent results for SU(3) and octonions within the geometric algebra approach to the fundamental forces of nature

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 1471-1491, February 2024.
Different ways of representing the group SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ within a Geometric Algebra approach are explored. As part of this, we consider characteristic multivectors for SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ and how these are linked with decomposition of generators into commuting bivectors. The setting for this work is within a 6d Euclidean Clifford Algebra.
