Linear matching method for design limits in plasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper a state-of-the-art numerical method is discussed for the evaluation of the shakedown and ratchet limits for an elastic-perfectly plastic body subjected to cyclic thermal and mechanical load history. The limit load or collapse load, i.e. the

Fireside corrosion degradation of ferritic alloys at 600°C in oxy-fired conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper reports the results of a study carried out to investigate the effects of simulated coal/biomass combustion conditions on the fireside corrosion. The 1000 h deposit recoat exposure (5 × 200 h cycles) was carried out at 600 °C.

Thermal spray coatings for molten salt facing structural parts and enabling opportunities for thermochemical cycle electrolysis

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2024.
The review is in relation to coating materials that can withstand thermochemical cycle corrosive environments. The overall assessment is that very limited sets of coating‐substrate system are likely to survive for an extended period in the high temperature thermochemical environment. Recommended solution is to use special metals coated with metallic or

Superheater tube element temperature regime [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2014
Physico-mathematical model for equation of non-stationary temperature conditions of superheater are defined in this work. This model can be used for calculation of temperature regime for both clean surface tube and tube with pollution on its outer and inner surface.

Metal loss and corrosion attack of FeCrAl overlay welds on evaporator tube shields of a waste‐fired power plant

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 75, Issue 8, Page 950-964, August 2024.
Weld clads of three FeCrAl alloys and reference Alloy 625 were exposed for 6 months in a waste‐fired combined heat and power plant. Microstructure and hardness were investigated before and after the exposure. Metal‐loss rate and corrosion products were analysed, and alloys were ranked from higher to lower erosion–corrosion resistance.

A study of stress, composition and grain interaction gradients in energy‐dispersive X‐ray stress analysis on materials with cubic symmetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 57, Issue 4, Page 896-911, August 2024.
The influence of various combinations of residual stress, composition and grain interaction gradients in polycrystalline materials with cubic symmetry on X‐ray stress analysis by energy‐dispersive diffraction is discussed on the basis of simulations for ferritic and austenitic steel. The influence of various combinations of residual stress, composition ...
