Water‐Mediated Ligand Dynamics Enable Solution‐Phase Self‐Assembly of Perovskite Nanocrystals Into 3D Ordered Architectures

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
Cooperative water‐mediated ligand–ligand interactions in a mixed‐ligand environment regulate nanocrystal growth and assembly, enabling rapid self‐assembly of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals into structurally stable and highly emissive superlattices directly in the liquid phase.

Dimensionality Engineering of 1D, 2D, and 3D High‐Entropy Alloys for Advanced Electrocatalysis

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
This review summarizes recent advances in the synthesis and electrocatalytic applications of high‐entropy alloys (HEAs) in 1D, 2D, and 3D forms. We highlight the unique structural advantages and superior performance of dimensionally engineered HEA in key electrocatalytic reactions, including water splitting, hydrogen oxidation, alcohol oxidation, CO2 ...

Controlled Cooling‐Induced Modulation of Transition Metal‐Oxygen Covalency for Mitigating Electrochemical Performance Degradation in Lithium‐ and Manganese‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Moderate transition metal–oxygen covalency suppresses transition metal migration and mitigates electrochemical performance degradation. By modulating the covalency, TM 3d electrons are delocalized into hybridized orbitals, reducing residual interplanar strain and thereby stabilizing electrochemical performance.

Development of electron source feedback for enhanced X‐ray beam stability at NSLS‐II

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 3, Page 585-595, May 2026.
An electron‐source feedback method has been demonstrated at the NSLS‐II Hard X‐ray Nanoprobe, using X‐ray beam position data to drive electron beam corrections. The approach suppresses dominant vibration peaks and significantly improves X‐ray beam stability and ptychographic image quality.Future synchrotron light sources are being designed to deliver ...
