Theoretical Investigation of Lorentz Transformation of Relativistic Quantities in Two-Dimensional Spacetime Continuum. [PDF]

open access: yesScientificWorldJournal
In the current study, we conducted a theoretical study to derive the Lorentz transformation between inertial frames of reference moving in two‐dimensional spacetime continuum. The invariance of the space–time interval equation, with use of the derived two‐dimensional transformations, yields the notion of 2 + 2‐dimensional spacetime continuum which ...

Relativity 4-ever?

open access: yesPhysics, 2022
This essay is about superluminal motion. It is generally believed that special relativity prohibits movements faster than the speed of light. It is explained which motion is actually forbidden by special relativity and why. Tachyons are breafly discussed

Optical phase singularities and superluminal motion in unbounded space

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2021
In this paper, we summarize a remarkable result obtained by Soskin et al. in Phys Rev A 56, 4064 (1997). We show that for an on-axis superposition of two different-waist Laguerre-Gauss beams with numbers (0, n) and (0, m), the topological charge equals ...

Nonlocality‐Enabled Pulse Management in Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 35, Issue 34, August 24, 2023., 2023
Nonlocal epsilon‐near‐zero metamaterials are demonstrated to shape ultrashort optical pulses in sub‐wavelength thick devices. The metamaterial operates over a wide bandwidth of tens of THz, and the switching between sub to superluminal and further to ‘backward’ pulse propagation is realized by controlling the angle of illumination.

Tunable High‐Field Terahertz Radiation from Plasma Channels

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
A scheme to generate high‐field terahertz pulses is proposed by off‐axially injecting intense laser pulses into a plasma channel. The terahertz pulses can be switched between radiation modes of radial and linear polarizations by changing injection conditions.

Particle Spin Described by Quantum Hamilton Equations

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 535, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
The quantum generalization of the classical Hamilton equations is derived for spinning particles in Nelson's stochastic mechanics. The solutions of these equations for a particle in a homogeneous magnetic field lead to a stochastically spinning particle with the well‐known quantized expectation values. Abstract The anomalous Zeeman effect made it clear

Full-polarization-locked vortex beam generator with time-varying characteristics. [PDF]

open access: yesNanophotonics
Abstract Vortex beams carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) are considered to hold significant prospects in fields such as super‐resolution imaging, high‐capacity communications, and quantum optics. Therefore, the techniques of vortex beam generation have attracted extensive studies, in which the development of metasurfaces brings new vigor and ...

A K‐Band Series‐Fed WR42 Waveguide Horn Array with Beam Squint Reduction through Shunt Delay Sections

open access: yesInternational Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Series feeds are commonly used in antenna arrays because of their compact size and low loss compared to corporate feeds but typically feature beam squint over wide bandwidths. This work proposes a series‐fed waveguide horn array with reduced beam squint by introducing synthesized time delay sections between the horns and the feed line.

The concept of relation and the explanation of the phenomenon of Entanglement

open access: yesPhilosophical Investigations, Volume 45, Issue 4, Page 430-452, October 2022., 2022
Abstract We investigate from a philosophical point of view the concept of relation that is used to explain the physical phenomenon of Entanglement. If the concept of relation is understood in the ordinary sense of the mono‐dyadic construct, which requires a middle term between the two extremes, it is aporetic and, thus, incapable of explaining the ...

Kilonova Emission and Heavy Element Nucleosynthesis

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
The binary neutron star merger observed and localized on 17 August 2017 by the LIGO and Virgo gravitational interferometers and by numerous telescopes on the ground and in orbit linked in an unambiguous way the coalescence of double neutron stars with ...
