Impact of quantum-corrected parameter on spinning particle motion around a black hole

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
The motion of spinning particles around a quantum-corrected black hole is examined in this paper. We investigate the dynamics of spinning test particles by using the Mathisson–Papapetrou–Dixon equations, the Tulczyjew spin-supplementary condition, and ...

Multi-frequency Polarization Studies of AGN Jets

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Throughout most of the history of radio interferometry studies of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) using VLBI, attempts to extract physically meaningful information from VLBI observations have been dominated by visibility-based approaches to analysis, such ...

Coordinate Confusion in Conformal Cosmology

open access: yes, 2007
A straight-forward interpretation of standard Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmologies is that objects move apart due to the expansion of space, and that sufficiently distant galaxies must be receding at velocities exceeding the speed of ...

Spin effects on motion of charged particles around magnetized black holes in conformally coupled scalar fields

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We investigate the dynamics of charged spinning test particles in the spacetime of a magnetized Bocharova-Bronnikov-Melnikov-Bekenstein black hole (BH), an extremal solution of the Einstein-Maxwell-conformally coupled scalar field equations.

The Relativistic Beaming Model and Superluminal Motions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1997
In this paper, we consider a compilation of 55 objects with known superluminal motions (SM), and whose flux density (X-ray, optical, radio), core dominance parameter (R), superluminal velocity, and radio Doppler factor (δR) are known. Our study shows that SM is consistent with the beaming model, and the relationis reasonable.

Dynamics of spinning particles around a charged black-bounce spacetime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We investigate the dynamics of neutral spinning test particles in the charged black-bounce spacetime described by the Reissner–Nordström–Simpson–Visser metric, which interpolates between a Reissner–Nordström black hole and a traversable wormhole via the ...

Innermost stable circular orbit of spinning particle in charged spinning black hole background

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we investigate the innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO) for a classical spinning test particle in the background of Kerr-Newman black hole.

Subluminal OPERA Neutrinos

open access: yes, 2011
The OPERA collaboration has announced to have observed superluminal neutrinos with a mean energy 17.5 GeV, but afterward the superluminal interpretation of the OPERA results has been refuted theoretically by Cherenkov-like radiation and pion decay.
