A Probabilistic Approach to Classifying Supernovae Using Photometric Information [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a novel method for determining the probability that a supernova candidate belongs to a known supernova type (such as Ia, Ibc, IIL, \emph{etc.}), using its photometric information alone. It is validated with Monte Carlo, and both space-

Laser bathymetry on rough riverbed channels: State‐of‐the‐art and future prospects

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 6, June 2026.
This literature review found that topo‐bathymetric LiDAR has been successfully used to capture the structures of rough riverbeds and detect large boulders. While all of the studies that were reviewed used sensors that were operated from fixed‐wing aircraft, few studies have yet tested UAV‐borne sensors on rough riverbeds, despite the potential offered ...

Green monomeric photosensitizing fluorescent protein for photo-inducible protein inactivation and cell ablation

open access: yesBMC Biology, 2018
Background Photosensitizing fluorescent proteins, which generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon light irradiation, are useful for spatiotemporal protein inactivation and cell ablation.

Neutrino Probes of Galactic and Extragalactic Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yes
Neutrinos are a messenger of extreme condition inside a supernova core and a new-born neutron star. Since current ground-based detectors have potential to detect ~10,000 neutrinos from supernova at the galactic center, they could tell us lots of ...

Synthesis, X‐Ray Analysis, Anticancer Activity, Computational, and in Silico Studies of New Thiophene Pyrazole Conjugates

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
Two new thiophene–pyrazole derivatives, 8a and 8b, were synthesized from thiophene 3 precursor and fully characterized. The structure of 8a was confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, which revealed a nonplanar conformation stabilized by NH···O hydrogen bonding and weak intermolecular contacts.

Core-collapse supernova neutrinos and neutrino properties

open access: yes
Core-collapse supernovae are powerful neutrino sources. The observation of a future (extra-)galactic supernova explosion or of the relic supernova neutrinos might provide important information on the supernova dynamics, on the supernova formation rate ...

PHYSICS OF SUPERNOVAE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2005
The origin of cosmic rays (CR) is supposed to be closely connected with supernovae (SNe) which create the conditions favorable for various mechanisms of the CR acceleration to operate effectively. First, modern ideas about the physics of the SN explosion are briefly discussed: the explosive thermonuclear burning in degenerate white dwarfs resulting in

La‐Tuned Scintillators With Nanosecond Response and High Flexibility for Blur‐Free X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesSmartMat, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
This work presents a zero‐dimensional Ce (III)‐based hybrid halide scintillator designed for real‐time and flexible X‐ray imaging. La3+ alloying synergistically enhances photoluminescence efficiency while preserving nanosecond‐scale decay. The resulting material exhibits a high light yield and low detection limit.

Martian Proton Albedo as Signature of Near‐Surface Water

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Understanding the Martian soil water budget is crucial not only for in situ resource utilization in future human missions to Mars, but also for reconstructing the geological and climatic history of the planet, as well as to assess the potential of ancient or even present microbial life.
