Fused supernumerary kidney

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2011
A partially fused supernumerary kidney with bifid ureters was diagnosed in a 35-year-old female patient using ultrasound and triple-phased computed tomography (CT). The CT also revealed two separate renal arteries supplying each of the left kidney and multiple left renal veins, forming a common trunk to drain into the inferior vena cava.

Intranasal supernumerary tooth

open access: greenIndian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, 1997
Eruption of ectopic and supernumerary teeth into the nasal cavity is quite an uncommon condition and may present with varying degree of morbidity. The purpose of this short report is to highlight the mode of presentation, management and review of relevant literature of this rare occurrence.

A Third Supernumerary Tooth Occurring in the Same Region: A Case Report

open access: yesDental journal, 2023
The presence of a supernumerary tooth is one of the most common dental anomalies, and surgical treatment is often required to address this anomaly. Moreover, it may lead to malocclusion, and long-term follow-up is important to monitor its status.

Embodiment of supernumerary robotic limbs in virtual reality

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
The supernumerary robotic limb system expands the motor function of human users by adding extra artificially designed limbs. It is important for us to embody the system as if it is a part of one’s own body and to maintain cognitive transparency in which ...

Human augmentation by wearable supernumerary robotic limbs: review and perspectives

open access: yesProgress in Biomedical Engineering, 2021
Supernumerary robotic limbs (SRLs) are wearable robots designed to enhance the sensorimotor abilities of humans. SRLs can be used to compensate for lost functions in patients with motor deficits and, more in general, to augment the sensorimotor ...

Supernumerary Robotic Limbs: A Review and Future Outlook

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Medical Robotics and Bionics, 2021
Wearable robots have become a prevalent method in the field of human augmentation and medical rehabilitation. Typical wearable robots mainly include exoskeletons and prostheses. However, their functions are limited due to dedicated design.

Epidemiology of Supernumerary Teeth in 5000 Radiography Films: Investigation of Patients Referring to the Clinics of Ardabil in 2015–2020

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dentistry, 2021
Background Supernumerary tooth is defined as any extra tooth or odontogenic structure that is formed on normal dentition. Supernumerary teeth cause such problems as deficiency in tooth growth, ectopic growth, displacement, crowding, diastema, odontogenic

EMG-based Control Strategies of a Supernumerary Robotic Hand for the Rehabilitation of Sub-Acute Stroke Patients: Proof of Concept [PDF]

open access: yes2023 International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR), Singapore, Singapore, 2023, pp. 1-6, 2023
One of the most frequent and severe aftermaths of a stroke is the loss of upper limb functionality. Therapy started in the sub-acute phase proved more effective, mainly when the patient participates actively. Recently, a novel set of rehabilitation and support robotic devices, known as supernumerary robotic limbs, have been introduced.

Supersymmetric solutions of type-II supergravity from $λ$-deformations and zoom-in limits [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 01 (2024) 177, 2023
We construct the embedding of the $\lambda$-model on $SL(2, \mathbb{R}) \times SU(2) \times SU(2)$ in type-II supergravity. In the absence of deformation, the ten-dimensional background corresponds to the near-horizon limit of the NS1-NS5-NS5 brane intersection.
