Intrarenal Supernumerary Ovary
Journal of Urology, 1997Ectopic ovarian tissue is a rare developmental anomaly that has been identified in the uterus, bladder, omentum, mesentery, and pelvic and retroperitoneal soft tissue. We report an intrarenal supernumerary ovary identified incidentally in a kidney removed for renal cell carcinoma.

SUPERNUMERARY RIBS are uncommon. When present they usually arise from cervical or lumbar vertebrae, although sacral, coccygeal, intrathoracic, and aberrant lumbar ribs have also been reported. This paper concerns a patient who has 15 pairs of thoracic ribs arising from 15 thoracic vertebrae.

A 77-year-old woman with a history of right breast cancer and recently diagnosed B-cell lymphoma was evaluated for developing renal insufficiency with ultrasound and a Tc-99m MAGS renal scan. These studies demonstrated the presence of 3 functioning native kidneys.
