Effect of large mechanical stress on the magnetic properties of embedded Fe nanoparticles
Magnetic nanoparticles are promising candidates for next generation high density magnetic data storage devices. Data storage requires precise control of the magnetic properties of materials, in which the magnetic anisotropy plays a dominant role.

Novel Aspects of Magnetic Interactions in a Macroscopic 3D Nanoparticle-Based Crystal
We report magnetic measurements on a macroscopic three-dimensional fcc array of iron-oxide nanoparticles. We observe typical nanomagnetism for the randomly packed configuration of nanoparticles, including dynamical freezing and superparamagnetism.

Actuating superparamagnetic nanoparticle monolayers
Magnetically responsive, mechanically flexible microstructures are desirable for applications ranging from smart sensors to remote-controlled actuation for surgery or robotics. Embedding magnetic nanoparticles into a thin matrix of elastic material enables high flexibility while exploiting the magnetic response of the individual particles.

SUPERPARAMAGNETISM IN GRANULAR COMPOUNDS AS SEEN BY MÖSSBAUER SPECTROSCOPY

Superparamagnetism in Red Sandstones [PDF]
Summary Susceptibility measurements down to liquid hydrogen temperatures have been made on rocks with (a) unstable and (b) stable natural remanent magnetization. The former follow a Curie Law and this indicates that most of the magnetic content is apparently paramagnetic.
