A Bifunctional T3SS‐Effector Simultaneously Cleaves Host MAP Kinase and Inhibits PPM1A Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pathogenic bacteria exploit the metalloprotease effector NleD to subvert host defenses. Structural, biochemical, and infection analyses reveal a bifunctional mechanism by which NleD binds and inhibits the host phosphatase PPM1A while preserving its proteolytic activity against MAPKs.

Cold Orthogonal Translation: A Psychrophilic Pyrrolysyl‐tRNA Synthetase Boosts Genetic Code Expansion in E. coli

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Orthogonal translation systems (OTSs) enable site‐specific incorporation of non‐canonical amino acids (ncAAs) and are central to genetic code expansion. Current engineering strategies typically rely on hyperstable aminoacyl tRNA synthetase (aaRS) scaffolds to tolerate destabilizing mutations required for substrate diversification.

Bayesian inference with stochastic volatility models using continuous superpositions of non-Gaussian Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes

open access: yes
This paper discusses Bayesian inference for stochastic volatility models based on continuous superpositions of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes. These processes represent an alternative to the previously considered discrete superpositions.

Fourier-Based Analysis of Phase Shifts

open access: yes, 2007
INTRODUCTION The superposition of periodic structures (such as line gratings or dot screens) offers a wide range of interesting properties for exploration, starting from the overall structure of the superposition and culminating in the interesting and ...

Laser‐Induced Ultrafast Magnetic Phase Transition in 2D Van Der Waals Antiferromagnetic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, ultrafast laser‐induced spin transfer and spin relaxation dynamics in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnetic CrI3/CrGeTe3 heterostructures are investigated. Laser excitation is demonstrated to induce pronounced interlayer nonequilibrium spin dynamics and ultrafast magnetic moment reconstruction, driving a transition from an antiferromagnetic (

Mechanostimulatory Cues Determine Intestinal Fibroblast Fate and Profibrotic Remodeling in a Physiodynamic Human Gut‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

Volatility extraction using the Kalman filter

open access: yes
This paper focuses on the extraction of volatility of financial returns. The volatility process is modeled as a superposition of two autoregressive processes which represent the more persistent factor and the quickly mean-reverting factor.

Polymorphic+Typeclass Superposition

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceWe present an extension of superposition that natively handles a polymorphic type sys-tem extended with type classes, thus eliminating the need for type encodings when used by an interactive theorem prover like Isabelle/HOL.

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...
