Superposition Method with the Principle of Multiple Shooting for Solving Stiff Linear Initial Value Problems [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Journal of Computer Sciences and Mathematics, 2005
The main objective of this paper is the development of a new technique for solving stiff Linear Initial Value Problems (IVPs) in Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), The new Technique consists of combining the linear superposition principle with the ...

Quantum superposition principle and generation of ultrashort optical pulses

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss the propagation of laser radiation through a medium of quantum prepared {\Lambda}-type atoms in order to enhance the insight into the physics of QS-PT generator suggested in Phys. Rev. A 80, 035801 (2009).

The principle of superposition in human prehension [PDF]

open access: yesRobotica, 2004
The experimental evidence supports the validity of the principle of superposition for multi-finger prehension in humans. Forces and moments of individual digits are defined by two independent commands: “Grasp the object stronger/weaker to prevent slipping” and “Maintain the rotational equilibrium of the object”.

Nonlocal Conduction in a Metawire

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A 1D metawire composed of twisted copper wires is designed and realized. This metamaterial exhibits pronounced effects of nonlocal electric conduction according to Ohm's law. The current at one location not only depends on the electric field at that location but also on other locations.

Brownian dynamics investigation of the Boltzmann superposition principle for orthogonal superposition rheology [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2019
The most general linear equation describing the stress response at time t to a time-dependent shearing perturbation may be written as the integral over the past history t′ of a time dependent relaxation modulus, depending on t − t′, multiplied by the perturbing shear rate at time t′.

Quantum test of the equivalence principle for atoms in superpositions of internal energy eigenstates

open access: yes, 2017
The Einstein Equivalence Principle (EEP) has a central role in the understanding of gravity and space-time. In its weak form, or Weak Equivalence Principle (WEP), it directly implies equivalence between inertial and gravitational mass.

PiP‐Plex: A Particle‐in‐Particle System for Multiplexed Quantification of Proteins Secreted by Single Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Detecting proteins secreted by a single cell while retaining its viability remains challenging. A particles‐in‐particle (PiPs) system made by co‐encapsulating barcoded microparticles (BMPs) with a single cell inside an alginate hydrogel particle is introduced.

Sub-Quantum Thermodynamics as a Basis of Emergent Quantum Mechanics

open access: yesEntropy, 2010
This review presents results obtained from our group’s approach to model quantum mechanics with the aid of nonequilibrium thermodynamics. As has been shown, the exact Schrödinger equation can be derived by assuming that a particle of energy  is actually ...
