Progress and challenges of next generation green supersonic civil aircraft [PDF]
After decades of development, the design technology of high subsonic civil aircraft has been quite mature in terms of safety, economy, comfort and environmental friendly. But for trans-continental and trans-oceanic travel, the flight time up to more than ten hours is still too long, and it becomes the bottleneck in the comfort and rapidity of long ...

Performance assessment of low-by-pass turbofan engines for low-boom civil supersonic aircraft
Abstract. This paper presents an approach to evaluate the performance of low-bypass turbofan engines without afterburner for a low-boom supersonic aircraft operating at Mach 1.5. The proposed method focuses on optimizing the propulsive performance by minimizing fuel consumption while meeting mission profile requirements.

Development of environmental control system for supersonic civil aircraft
Background: Development of a new supersonic civil aircraft (SCA) requires a new environmental control system (ECS) to meet the improved fuel efficiency requirements to state-of-the-art passenger aircraft. It is proposed to increase energy efficiency to improve fuel efficiency of SCA by using electric compressors (EC) to compress air in the ECS.

Numerical Evaluation of Jet Noise with Flight Effect for Supersonic Civil Aircraft Using ZDES
This paper investigates numerically the influence of nozzle shape (convergent-divergent or fully convergent) and jet operating conditions on the noise generated by a jet representative of a supersonic business jet at take-off. The nozzle diameter is 50 mm and two operating conditions of Mj = 0.964 and 0.924, corresponding to full thrust and reduced ...

Abstract Supersonic civil aircraft represent a key direction for the future of commercial aviation. However, the sonic boom caused by supersonic flight remains a major bottleneck restricting their commercial operation. This paper proposes a low-boom supersonic civil aircraft configuration with a cruise weight of 60 tons and a cruise Mach
