A dynamic combustion model for supersonic turbulent combustion
Supersonic combustion plays a vital role in various applications, including scramjets, dual-mode ramjets, and pulse detonation engines. However, the flame characteristics can vary significantly, depending on the application. To model supersonic combustion, large eddy simulation coupled with a partially stirred reactor (PaSR) is commonly used.

Large-eddy simulation of kerosene spray combustion in a model scramjet chamber
Large-eddy simulation (LES) of kerosene spray combustion in a model supersonic combustor with cavity flame holder is carried out. Kerosene is injected through the ceiling of the cavity.

Reacting Flow Characteristics of Wall-mounted Ramps in Strut-injection Scramjet Combustors under Varying Hydrogen Jet Pressures [PDF]
Implications of hydrogen pressure injection variances from strut injectors in a supersonic reacting flow domain have been a focus of this study. A numerical investigation is performed using Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) equations in combination ...

ON THE POSSIBILITY OF BURNING ACCELERATION IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBERS OF ADVANCED JET ENGINES BY DEEPLY SUBCRITICAL MICROWAVE DISCHARGE [PDF]
The paper deals with the problem of increasing the speed of propagation of the flame front as applied to the problems of reducing noxious emissions of nitrogen oxides formed during operation of jet engines and industrial turbines, as well as the ...

This work develops a spray‐assisted in situ assembly technique to construct AHF materials with nitrogen/oxygen‐regulated one‐dimensional channels on glass fiber, providing abundant active sites and enabling rapid transport for lithium ions. Subsequently, phosphate flame retardants are encapsulated via in situ polymerization, resulting in a thermally ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Stabilization of combustion front in supersonic flow using streamer’s discharge
Thermodynamic analysis shows that for flights with velocities exceeding six sound velocities, it is required to burn fuel not in a subsonic but in a supersonic flow.

Ignition Characteristics of Supersonic Combustion
Abstract Detonation may be initiated by two different modes, direct initiation or deflagration-to- detonation transition (DDT). Direct initiation can occur by a strong source such as using exploding wire or high-voltage discharge jets. Nevertheless, this method required a significant amount of energy in order to ensure that the generated
