Mixing supersymmetry and family symmetry breakings [PDF]

open access: greenPhysical Review D, 2013
We present a toy model in which the Higgs sector fields transform as non-Abelian representations of a family symmetry group, and consider the possibility that the extra family partners of the Higgs particles act as messengers for both supersymmetry and family symmetry breakings.

UNUSUAL HIGGS OR SUPERSYMMETRY FROM NATURAL ELECTROWEAK SYMMETRY BREAKING [PDF]

open access: greenModern Physics Letters A, 2009
This review provides an elementary discussion of electroweak symmetry breaking in the minimal and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric models with the focus on the fine-tuning problem — the tension between natural electroweak symmetry breaking and the direct search limit on the Higgs boson mass.

Modular symmetry of soft supersymmetry breaking terms [PDF]

open access: greenProgress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, 2022
Abstract We study the modular symmetry of soft supersymmetry breaking terms. Soft scalar masses and A-term coefficients are invariant under the modular symmetry when we regard the F-term as a spurion with the modular weight −2. Their flavor structure is determined by the same symmetry as Yukawa couplings, i.e., fermion masses.

Orbital frontiers: harnessing higher modes in photonic simulators. [PDF]

open access: yesNanophotonics
Abstract Photonic platforms have emerged as versatile and powerful classical simulators of quantum dynamics, providing clean, controllable optical analogs of extended structured (i.e., crystalline) electronic systems. While most realizations to date have used only the fundamental mode at each site, recent advances in structured light – particularly the

Duality Symmetries and Supersymmetry Breaking in String Compactifications [PDF]

open access: green, 1994
We discuss the spontaneous supersymetry breaking within the low-energy effective supergravity action of four-dimensional superstrings. In particular, we emphasize the non-universality of the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters, the $\mu$-problem and the duality symmetries.

Radiative symmetry breaking and the top quark mass in local supersymmetry [PDF]

open access: greenPhysics Letters B, 1993
Exact low energy expressions are derived for the top-squark and higgs masses, taking into account radiative contributions due to a heavy top quark. Their masses are expressed as analytic functions of $m_{1/2}$, $m_{3/2}$, $m_t$ and $sin $. Constraints from the radiative symmetry breaking mechanism are used then, to put lower bounds on the top-quark ...
