Decoding Nature with Nature's Tools: Heterotic Line Bundle Models of Particle Physics with Genetic Algorithms and Quantum Annealing

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 2, February 2024.
Abstract The string theory landscape may include a multitude of ultraviolet embeddings of the Standard Model, but identifying these has proven difficult due to the enormous number of available string compactifications. Genetic Algorithms (GAs) represent a powerful class of discrete optimisation techniques that can efficiently deal with the immensity of

A Study of the Early Cosmic Dynamics in a Multifield Model of Inflation and Curvature Perturbations

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
In this work, we study the cosmological dynamics of the early universe by employing a small field potential in the context of multifield inflation. By investigating analytically the cosmological observables, such as the number of e‐folds N, potential slow‐roll parameters ϵV, ηV, and spectral index ns which carry significant information, we show that ...

Dynamical gauge symmetry breaking in supersymmetry theories

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1985
Abstract The supersymmetric extension of the conventional mechanism of dynamical gauge symmetry breaking is presented in the general case where the Goldstone bosons may be either doubled or non-doubled. The models considered are strongly interacting supersymmetric gauge theories with an arbitrary chiral breaking pattern G → H.

Softly broken supersymmetry and radiative gauge symmetry breaking

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1984
Abstract We compare two approaches to quantum corrections in theories with softly broken supersymmetry: the effective potential a la Coleman-Weinberg and the scaling of parameters of the tree level potential between MPL and MW, which has been used recently in the context of low-energy supergravity in order to obtain radiative SU(2) × U(1) symmetry ...

Left-right symmetry breaking scale and supersymmetry in unified theories [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1986
We propose a class of supersymmetric grand unified models where parity and SU(2)R breaking scales are widely separated and compatible with a low-lying mass for the right-handed gauge boson WR. The intermediate symmetry SU(4)c×SU(2)L×SU(2)R and Higgs content are uniquely fixed if mWR < 109 GeV.
