Renormalization group flows from holography supersymmetry and a c theorem [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We obtain first order equations that determine a supersymmetric kink solution in fivedimensional N = 8 gauged supergravity. The kink interpolates between an exterior anti-de Sitter region with maximal supersymmetry and an interior anti-de Sitter region ...

Asymptotic Behavior of Saxion–Axion System in Stringy Quintessence Model

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 11, November 2024.
Abstract The late time behavior of the slow‐roll parameter in the stringy quintessence model is studied when axion as well as saxion are allowed to move. Even though the potential is independent of the axion at tree level, the axion can move through its coupling to the saxion and the background geometry.

Intersecting branes and Supersymmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We consider intersecting M-brane solutions of supergravity in eleven dimensions. Supersymmetry turns out to be a powerful tool in obtaining such solutions and their generalizations.

Supersymmetry and non-Abelian T-duality in type II supergravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We study the effect of T-duality on supersymmetry in the context of type II supergravity. For both U(1) Abelian and SU(2) non-Abelian T-duality, we demonstrate that the supersymmetry variations after T-duality are related to the variations before T ...

Modular Invariance, Finiteness, and Misaligned Supersymmetry: New Constraints on the Numbers of Physical String States

open access: yes, 1994
We investigate the generic distribution of bosonic and fermionic states at all mass levels in non-supersymmetric string theories, and find that a hidden ``misaligned supersymmetry'' must always appear in the string spectrum.

Volkov-Akulov theory and D-branes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The action of supersymmetric Born-Infeld theory (D-9-brane in a Lorentz covariant static gauge) has a geometric form of the Volkov-Akulov-type. The first non-linearly realized supersymmetry can be made manifest, the second world-volume supersymmetry is ...

de Sitter State in Heterotic String Theory

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 11, November 2024.
Abstract Recent no‐go theorems have ruled out four‐dimensional classical de Sitter vacua in heterotic string theory. On the other hand, the absence of a well‐defined Wilsonian effective action and other related phenomena also appear to rule out such time‐dependent vacua with de Sitter isometries, even in the presence of quantum corrections.

SUPERSYMMETRY OF PARAFERMIONS [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1999
We show that the single-mode parafermionic type systems possess supersymmetry, which is based on the symmetry of characteristic functions of the parafermions related to the generalized deformed oscillator of Daskaloyannis et al. The supersymmetry is realized in both unbroken and spontaneously broken phases.

Parabose algebra as generalized conformal supersymmetry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
The form of realistic space-time supersymmetry is fixed, by Haag-Lopuszanski-Sohnius theorem, either to the familiar form of Poincare supersymmetry or, in massless case, to that of conformal supersymmetry. We question necessity for such strict restriction in the context of theories with broken symmetries. In particular, we consider parabose N=4 algebra
