New exactly solvable rationally-extended radial oscillator and Scarf I potentials are generated by using a constructive supersymmetric quantum mechanical method based on a reparametrization of the corresponding conventional superpotential and on the ...

Supersymmetric probes of wrapped M5-brane backgrounds [PDF]
In this thesis we consider supersymmetric probes in backgrounds sourced by an M5-brane which is wrapped on holomorphic 2-cycles in C(^2) and C(^3), respectively. For the first case, we use M2-brane probes to compute the BPS spectra of the corresponding N

Higher derivative terms and their influence on N=2 supersymmetric systems [PDF]
This thesis is concerned with so-called higher derivative terms which arise in low energy approximations to certain physical models. In particular, the aim is to investigate the role that such terms play in low energy N=2 supersymmetric gauge theories in

The existence of a novel enlarged shape invariance property valid for some rational extensions of shape-invariant conventional potentials, first pointed out in the case of the Morse potential, is confirmed by deriving all rational extensions of the Rosen-

We introduce a polyadic analog of supersymmetry by considering the polyadization procedure (proposed by the author) applied to the toy model of one-dimensional supersymmetric quantum mechanics. The supercharges are generalized to polyadic ones using the n-ary sigma matrices defined in earlier work.

The parallel rôles of modular symmetry in N = 2 supersymmetric Yang-Mills and in the quantum Hall effect are reviewed. In supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories modular symmetry emerges as a version of Dirac's electric - magnetic duality.

I discuss effective field theories of brane-world models where different sectors break different halves of the extended bulk supersymmetry. It is shown how to consistently couple N = 2 supersymmetric matter to N = 1 superfields that lack N = 2 partners ...
