The Bogoliubov–de Gennes system, the AKNS hierarchy, and nonlinear quantum mechanical supersymmetry [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Physics, 2009
We show that the Ginzburg-Landau expansion of the grand potential for the Bogoliubov-de Gennes Hamiltonian is determined by the integrable nonlinear equations of the AKNS hierarchy, and that this provides the natural mathematical framework for a hidden nonlinear quantum mechanical supersymmetry underlying the dynamics.

Supersymmetric quantum mechanics on the lattice: I. Loop formulation

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
Simulations of supersymmetric field theories on the lattice with (spontaneously) broken supersymmetry suffer from a fermion sign problem related to the vanishing of the Witten index. We propose a novel approach which solves this problem in low dimensions

N=4, 3D Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics in Non-Abelian Monopole Background

open access: yes, 2010
Using the harmonic superspace approach, we construct the three-dimensional N=4 supersymmetric quantum mechanics of the supermultiplet (3,4,1) coupled to an external SU(2) gauge field.

Holomorphic field theories and higher algebra

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 10, Page 2903-2974, October 2025.
Abstract Aimed at complex geometers and representation theorists, this survey explores higher dimensional analogs of the rich interplay between Riemann surfaces, Virasoro and Kac‐Moody Lie algebras, and conformal blocks. We introduce a panoply of examples from physics — field theories that are holomorphic in nature, such as holomorphic Chern‐Simons ...

Supersymmetric Relativistic Quantum Mechanics

open access: yes, 2005
We present an attempt to formulate the supersymmetric and relativistic quantum mechanics in the sense of realizing supersymmetry on the single particle level, by utilizing the equations of motion which is equivalent to the ordinary 2nd quantization of ...

Relational Supersymmetry via the Dressing Field Method and Matter‐Interaction Supergeometric Framework

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 537, Issue 9, September 2025.
Applications of the Dressing Field Method are reviewed and further expanded to the very foundations of the supersymmetric framework, where it allows to build relational supersymmetric field theory. Furthermore, a novel approach is proposed giving a unified description of fermionic matter fields and bosonic gauge fields: a Matter‐Interaction ...

Hidden nonlinear supersymmetries in pure parabosonic systems

open access: yes, 1999
The existence of intimate relation between generalized statistics and supersymmetry is established by observation of hidden supersymmetric structure in pure parabosonic systems. This structure is characterized generally by a nonlinear superalgebra.

Foundations of Ghost Stability

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The authors present a new method to analytically prove global stability in ghost‐ridden dynamical systems. The proposal encompasses all prior results and consequentially extends them. In particular, it is shown that stability can follow from a conserved quantity that is unbounded from below, contrary to expectation.

An elliptic triptych

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We clarify three aspects of non-compact elliptic genera. Firstly, we give a path integral derivation of the elliptic genus of the cigar conformal field theory from its non-linear sigma-model description.

Finite Number of States, de Sitter Space and Quantum Groups at Roots of Unity

open access: yes, 2003
This paper explores the use of a deformation by a root of unity as a tool to build models with a finite number of states for applications to quantum gravity. The initial motivation for this work was cosmological breaking of supersymmetry.
