These lectures provide a simple introduction to supersymmetry breaking. After presenting the basics of the subject and illustrating them in tree-level examples, we discuss dynamical supersymmetry breaking, emphasizing the role of holomorphy and ...

Dynamical Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]
I review the motivation for dynamical supersymmetry breaking, the various mechanisms which have been discovered, and the prospects for model building.Comment: 5 pages.

Inflation from Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]
I discuss the possibility that inflation is driven by supersymmetry breaking, with the superpartner of the goldstino (sgoldstino) playing the role of the inflaton. Imposing an R-symmetry to satisfy the slow-roll conditions, avoiding the so-called η

Duality in the Presence of Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]
We study Seiberg duality for N=1 supersymmetric QCD with soft supersymmetry-breaking terms. We generate the soft terms through gauge mediation by coupling two theories related by Seiberg duality to the same supersymmetry-breaking sector.

Integrable models and supersymmetry breaking
We elaborate on integrable dynamical systems from scalar–gravity Lagrangians that include the leading dilaton tadpole potentials of broken supersymmetry.

Gravitational Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]
We consider supersymmetry breaking models with a purely constant superpotential in supergravity. The supersymmetry breaking is induced for the vanishing cosmological constant.

Breaking supersymmetry with pure spinors [PDF]
For several classes of BPS vacua, we find a procedure to modify the PDEs that imply preserved supersymmetry and the equations of motion so that they still imply the latter but not the former.

We address the size of supersymmetry-breaking effects within higher-dimensional settings where the observable sector resides deep within a strongly warped region, with supersymmetry breaking not necessarily localized in that region.

Unity of Supersymmetry Breaking Models [PDF]
We examine the models with gauge group U(1)^{k-1}\times\prod_{i=1}^k SU(n_i), which are obtained from decomposing the supersymmetry breaking model of Affleck, Dine and Seiberg containing an antisymmetric tensor field. We note that all of these models are

Dilaton supersymmetry breaking [PDF]
We argue that dilaton supersymmetry breaking in string derived supergravity requires an effective superpotential which is not separable as a function of the dilaton times a function of the moduli. We show that in a simple model with hidden sector matter condensation and a dilaton independent term one can easily obtain $|F_S| \not=0$.
