Supersymmetry breaking and the cosmological constant [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2014
I review three attempts to explain the small value of the cosmological constant, and their connection to supersymmetry breaking. They are The String Landscape, Supersymmetric Large Extra Dimensions (SLED), and the Holographic Space–time Formalism invented by Fischler and myself.

Dynamical supersymmetry breaking in intersecting brane models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2010
In this paper we study dynamical supersymmetry breaking in absence of gravity with the matter content of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The hidden sector of the theory is a strongly coupled gauge theory, realized in terms of microscopic ...

Metastable supersymmetry breaking without scales [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 2011
We construct new examples of models of metastable D=4 N=1 supersymmetry breaking in which all scales are generated dynamically. Our models rely on Seiberg duality and on the ISS mechanism of supersymmetry breaking in massive SQCD.

Supersymmetry breaking

Fortschritte der Physik, 2008
AbstractI will describe a minimal supersymmetric SU(5) model, in which the adjoint multiplet breaks spontaneously both gauge and supersymmetry. This inevitably leads to intermediate scales, which in turn increase the GUT scale. The dimension 6 proton decay is thus suppressed, while soft terms coming from supergravity typically dominate.

Electroweak breaking and supersymmetry breaking

Pramana, 2004
We discuss the clash between the absence of fine tuning in the Higgs potential and a sufficient suppression of flavour changing neutral current transitions in supersymmetric extensions of the standard model. It is pointed out that horizontalU(1) symmetry combined with theD-term supersymmetry breaking provides a realistic framework for solving both ...
