Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Projection Pursuit for Exploratory Supervised Classification [PDF]
In high-dimensional data, one often seeks a few interesting low-dimensional projections that reveal important features of the data. Projection pursuit is a procedure for searching high-dimensional data for interesting low-dimensional projections via the ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Spectral fuzzy classification: a supervised approach [PDF]
The goal of this paper is to present an algorithm for pattern recognition, leveraging on an existing fuzzy clustering algorithm developed by Del Amo et al. [3, 5], and modifying it to its supervised version, in order to apply the algorithm to different pattern recognition applications in Remote Sensing.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox
