An Engineered Biomimetic Nanoreactor With Cascade Functions for Targeted and Combinatorial Therapy of Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Preparation of RVG‐modified erythrocyte membrane‐coated HMPB nanocarriers loaded with L‐arginine and NBP (RM@HPAN) and its neuroprotective mechanism. After intravenous injection, RM@HPAN achieves prolonged circulation, RVG‐29‐mediated BBB penetration, and ischemic accumulation.

Biomechanical Evaluation With a Novel Cadaveric Model Using Supination and Pronation Testing of a Lisfranc Ligament Injury

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics, 2020
Background: Lisfranc joint injuries can be due to direct or indirect trauma and while the precise mechanisms are unknown, twisting or axial force through the foot is a suspected contributor.

Forearm Pronation at Foot Contact: A Biomechanical Motion-Capture Analysis in High School and Professional Pitchers

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2023
Background: It has previously been speculated that baseball pitchers who display excessive forearm pronation at foot contact (FC) have a higher propensity toward ulnar collateral ligament injury and subsequent surgery.

Computed Tomography‐ and Photoacoustic Imaging‐Active Bioresorbable Electrospun Bismuth Nanoparticle‐Infused Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A polymeric graft loaded with radiopaque bismuth nanoparticles is expected to undergo gradual polymer resorption and nanoparticle release. This design enables noninvasive, multimodal monitoring of device integrity, patency, and degradation using computed tomography alongside ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging over 12 weeks.

A novel approach of FMG sensors distribution leading to subject independent approach for effective and efficient detection of forearm dynamic movements

open access: yesBiomedical Engineering Advances, 2022
In force myography (FMG) limb movement is detected by measuring muscle contraction intensity in terms of forces. In this work, FMG is used to detect forearm movements i.e. flexion, extension, pronation, supination and steady-state.

Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

Spontaneous Reduction in the Intermetatarsal Angle in Distal First Metatarsal Osteotomies with No Lateral Head Displacement in Hallux Valgus

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: The outcomes of first metatarsal (M1) distal osteotomies in hallux valgus (HV) can be improved, especially for intermetatarsal angle (IMA) correction, which is mainly based on lateral displacement of the M1 head (i.e., translation) through ...
