Point-of-care testing of plasma free hemoglobin and hematocrit for mechanical circulatory support
Hematological analysis is essential for patients who are supported by a mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The laboratory methods used to analyze blood components are conventional and accurate, but they require a mandatory turn-around-time for ...

Singular points of H\"older asymptotically optimally doubling measures [PDF]
We consider the question of how the doubling characteristic of a measure determines the regularity of its support. The question was considered by David, Kenig, and Toro for codimension-1 under a crucial assumption of flatness, and later by Preiss, Tolsa,

Travelling wave solutions to the KPP equation with branching noise arising from initial conditions with compact support [PDF]
We consider the one-dimensional KPP-equation driven by space-time white noise and extend the construction of travelling wave solutions arising from Heavyside initial data from [Tribe, 1996, MR1396765] to non-negative continuous functions with compact ...

On the Magnetic Nature of Quantum Point Contacts
We present results for a model that describes a quantum point contact. We show how electron-electron correlations, within the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation, generate a magnetic moment in the point contact.
