Frequency-based brain networks: From a multiplex framework to a full multilayer description [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We explore how to study dynamical interactions between brain regions using functional multilayer networks whose layers represent the different frequency bands at which a brain operates.

Hidden lineages in the African Sky Islands: A taxonomic reevaluation of Afrocarduus (Compositae)

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
Species delimitation is crucial for biodiversity studies. Using Hyb‐Seq and phylogenomics, we reassessed Afrocarduus, endemic to Afromontane and Afroalpine regions, uncovering 16 evolutionary lineages (2.3 Mya). Morphological data support their distinctiveness, with acaulescence evolving independently twice. The traditionally broad A.

Ninjurin1 in cardiovascular and vascular biology: From molecular mechanisms to therapeutic opportunities

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
NINJ1 mediates PMR in cardiovascular cell death, releasing DAMPs that amplify vascular inflammation. Dual NINJ1 paradox: membrane‐bound form drives endothelial NF‐κB/CXCL‐8 inflammation while soluble form provides atheroprotection. Pericyte NINJ1 regulates the critical balance between angiogenic sprouting and vessel maturation in ischaemic tissues ...

Quasi-homogeneous black hole thermodynamics

open access: yes, 2018
Although the fundamental equations of ordinary thermodynamic systems are known to correspond to first-degree homogeneous functions, in the case of non-ordinary systems like black holes the corresponding fundamental equations are not homogeneous.

Synthesis, crystal structure, and thermal stability of a sulfate-bridged Zn(Ⅱ) polymer with 2-aminomethyl-1H-benzimidazole

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2018
In order to further study the coordination reaction rules and properties of organic ligands containing benzimidazole with Zn(Ⅱ), a new one-dimensional coordination polymer { SO4]·0.5H2O}n has been synthesized by the reaction of zinc(Ⅱ) sulfate ...

Cellulose From Aloe Vera Plant Waste as Crosslinker for Vat 3D Printable Vitrimers: Toward a Circular Economy Approach in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 2, February 2026.
Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is extracted from aloe vera peel waste and functionalized with methacrylic groups to obtain crosslinkers for the synthesis of photocurable vitrimeric resins for vat 3D printing. Those are used to fabricate objects with excellent printing resolution, self‐healing ability and recycling properties, increasing the ...

Aluminum Adducts of NHC‐Silylphosphinidenes and Their Isosteric Analogy to NHC‐Disilylsilylene Complexes

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 652, Issue 1, January 6, 2026.
Aluminum–silicon adducts of NHC‐phosphinidenides are synthesized and structurally characterized. Their bonding and electronic structures are compared with those of isosteric NHC‐disilylsilylene complexes by DFT, NBO, and QTAIM analyses, highlighting the interplay of covalent versus coordinative interactions and emphasizing the significance of ...

Hierarchically MOF‐Based Porous Monolith Composites for Atmospheric Water Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 1, 2 January 2026.
This review explores the design of hierarchical porous materials for atmospheric water harvesting, focusing on metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and porous monoliths. Emphasis is placed on integrating MOF nanoscale porosity with the microscale channels of monolithic scaffolds to enhance sorption‐desorption performance.

On ?-Induced Fuzzy Supra Topological Spaces and Fuzzy Supra ?-S-closed Spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2013
The aim of this paper is to study some properties of -induced fuzzy supra topological spaces by utilizing -lower semicontinuous functions. Next the connection between properties of a topological space (X,T) and -induced fuzzy supra topological space (X,S()) are studied.
