Formation and evolution of the Archean continental crust of China: A review

open access: yesChina Geology, 2018
: The mainland of China is composed of the North China Craton, the South China Craton, the Tarim Craton and other young orogenic belts. Amongst the three cratons, the North China Craton has been studied most and noted for its widely-distributed Archean ...

Tungsten mineralisation in Archaean supracrustal rocks at Sermitsiaq, southern West Greenland

open access: yesRapport Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse, 1986
The purpose of the field work was detailed mapping of the eastern part of the island Sermitsiaq in outer Godthåbsfjord, with special reference to its tungsten mineralisation (Appel, 1983). During six weeks in the summer of 1985 a geological map was made using enlarged aerial photographs at scale 1:10 000, and scheelite showings were localised with ...

Tourmaline in Precambrian supracrustal rocks from Aasiaat, central West Greenland

open access: yesRapport Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse, 1988
Close to the town Aasiaat/Egedesminde supracrustal rocks outcrop on some small islands situated around the position 68°46'N and 52°38'W. The largest of these islands, Isuamiut, is barely a few kilometres long and the islands are situated more than 10 km from the mainland.

Selective metasomatism of ultramafic cumulates within Archean supracrustal sequences

open access: yes
The Neoarchean Storø Supracrustal Belt in SW Greenland comprises a sequence of mature quartzite, metapelite, amphibolite, and ultramafic rocks that underwent amphibolite facies metamorphism during the amalgamation of the Mesoarchean Akia Terrane and the ...

3.7 billion year old detrital sediments in Greenland are consistent with active plate tectonics in the Eoarchean

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Plate tectonic processes modulate element cycling, crust generation, and differentiation, yet at what point in Earth’s history these processes emerged remains debated.

A klippe of Nagssugtoqidian supracrustal rocks at Sarfartûp nunâ, central West Greenland

open access: yesRapport Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse, 1979
Supracrustal rocks comprising subaqueous volcanics, basic and ultrabasic sills and clastic carbonate sediments are unconformable upon quartzo-feldspathic gneisses and together form a small klippe of imbricate thrust slices. The sills were intruded after the other rocks had been folded and metamorphosed at low amphibolite fades.

Some border relations between supracrustal and infracrustal rocks in South-West Greenland

open access: yesRapport Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse, 1966
Three types of border relation between supracrustal and intracrustal rocks are described from South-West Greenland. In the Ravns Storø area a largely volcanic series, possibly equivalent in age to the Tartoq Group, passes downwards into the underlying gneisses via a transitional migmatite front.

Low pressure granulite facies sukma supracrustal rocks near Nagaras, southern Bastar craton

open access: yes, 2007
This communication discusses the metamorphism of low pressure granulites in the Sukma supracrustal suite near Nagaras in the southern Bastar craton. The area shows occurrence of Mg-Al rocks,of both amphibolite and granulite facies.

New approaches to lithological and stratigraphic research and mapping of the early Precambrian complexes (using an example of the Paleoproterozoic and Archean structures of Keivy, Kola Peninsula)

open access: yesVestnik MGTU
Previously, the team of authors proposed a new method for the comparative analysis of geological objects. Its foundation is an assessment of the proximity of statistically significant petrogeochemical characteristics.

Precambrian crustal evolution and Cretaceous–Palaeogene faulting in West Greenland: Evolution of Neoarchaean supracrustal belts at the northern margin of the North Atlantic Craton, West Greenland [PDF]

open access: yesGeological Survey of Denmark and Greenland Bulletin, 2006
The Archaean North Atlantic Craton of West Greenland collided at c. 1.9 Ga with a lesser-known Archaean craton to the north, to form the Nagssugtoqidian orogen.
