Identification and Characterization of an In Silico Designed Membrane‐Active Peptide with Antiviral Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An evolutionary molecular dynamics platform is used to design P1.6, a membrane‐active peptide that senses lipid packing defects in viral envelopes. P1.6 adopts a stabilized α‐helical structure upon membrane contact, disrupts virus‐like liposomes, and damages HIV‐1 particles.

Cyclodextrin-based hierarchical supramolecular architectures

open access: yes, 2015
Biological macromolecules and their assemblies (such as enzymes or viruses) perform extremely complex functions, thanks to their structural control. Our aim is to mimic such elaborated tools and build synthetic hierarchical assemblies using building blocks of cyclodextrin (CD). Using the known DIBAL-H reactivity for polyfonctionalization of CDs several

Modulating Integrin and Growth Factor Signaling With Peptides: Strategies to Synergistically Enhance Bone Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It has been demonstrated that, in the bone extracellular matrix (ECM), integrins and growth factor receptors (GFRs) engage in synergistic signaling to guide bone healing and regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of current strategies using ECM‐derived peptides to recreate the cellular microenvironment and harness synergistic ...
