Tailored 2D Hierarchical Architectures via Interfacial Living Supramolecular Polymerization for Enhanced Exciton Migration

open access: yesAggregate
The structural precision of living supramolecular polymerization processes is dictated by nucleation control, conventionally achieved through kinetic trapping of monomers in metastable aggregates or inactive molecular states.

Synthesis, Crystal Structures, and Photoluminescent Properties of Two Supramolecular Architectures Based on Difunctional Ligands Containing Imidazolyl and Carboxyl Groups

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
Two new supramolecular architectures, namely, [Cd(L1)2(H2O)]n (1) and [Ni(L2)2(H2O)]n (2), were synthesized by the reaction of corresponding metal salts of CdCl2·2.5H2O and NiCl2·6H2O with 2-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)benzoic acid (HL1) and 3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl ...

CRISPR/Cas9‐Assisted Microrobots for Fast and Ultrasensitive “On‐The‐Fly” Next‐Generation DNA Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents self‐propelled CRISPR/Cas9‐functionalized Au–MRs for rapid, amplification‐free, “on‐the‐fly” DNA detection. By harnessing motion‐assisted signal recovery, the platform achieved the limit of detection in low fM DNA concentrations, enabling detection across a wide dynamic range within only 5 min, which is significantly faster than any ...

Chiral Polythiophenes: Part I: Syntheses of Monomeric Precursors

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The purpose of this mini-review is to comprehensively present the synthetic approaches used for the preparation of non-racemic mono- and multi-substituted thiophenes, which, in turn, can be applied as precursors for the synthesis of chiral polythiophenes

Supramolecular Architecture of the Coronavirus Particle

open access: yes, 2016
Coronavirus particles serve three fundamentally important functions in infection. The virion provides the means to deliver the viral genome across the plasma membrane of a host cell. The virion is also a means of escape for newly synthesized genomes. Lastly, the virion is a durable vessel that protects the genome on its journey between cells.

Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.
