Host‐Guest Inclusion Chemistry From Supramolecular Architecture Enabling Anti‐Biofouling Surfaces for Oesophagus Stents

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A slippery coating with exceptional anti‐biofouling performance is developed using biocompatible materials for oesophagus stents. Host‐guest inclusion complex formation capabilities of FDA‐approved supramolecules, cyclodextrins are exploited, which significantly enhances the stability of the surface.

Molecular modelling of dendrimers for nanoscale applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Dendrimers are well defined, highly branched macromolecules that radiate from a central core and are synthesized through a stepwise, repetitive reaction sequence that guarantees complete shells for each generation, leading to polymers that are ...

Noncovalent synthesis of supramolecular dendritic architectures in water

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2005
AbstractWater‐soluble guest–host complexes are prepared in a two‐step process. For this a new, polydisperse ethylene glycol containing guest molecule is synthesized that is soluble in both chloroform and water. This guest is able to bind to urea–adamantyl‐modified poly(propylene imine) dendrimers in chloroform in a noncovalent manner.

Ultrastable Perovskite Encased in a Helical Cage for Tunable Full‐Color Mirror‐Image Circularly Polarized Luminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Develop full‐color colloidal perovskite nanocrystal (PNC) composites using a single organic halide precursor and enhance their stability and emission through zirconium hydrogen phosphate nanosheets (NSs). Achieve high photoluminescence efficiency and dual‐state circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) by embedding stabilized PNCs into a chiral polymer ...

Self-Assembly of Supramolecular Triblock Copolymer Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Four different poly(tert-butoxystyrene)-b-polystyrene-b-poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PtBOS-b-PS-b-P4VP) linear triblock copolymers, with the P4VP weight fraction varying from 0.08 to 0.39, were synthesized via sequential anionic polymerization.

Tunable and Recyclable Piezoelectric Biomaterials via Ion‐Directed Guanine‐Quadruplex Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Guanine‐quadruplex (GQ) assemblies, formed via ion‐mediated self‐assembly of amphiphilic guanine derivatives, are introduced as tunable and recyclable piezoelectric biomaterials. Distinct alkali ions induce unique dipole configurations and piezoelectric outputs, with K⁺ yielding the highest performance.

Threading Through Macrocycles Enhances the Performance of Carbon Nanotubes as Polymer Fillers

open access: yes, 2016
In this work we study the reinforcement of polymers by mechanically interlocked derivatives of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). We compare the mechanical properties of fibers made of polymers and of composites with pristine single-walled carbon ...
