Self-sorting in supramolecular assemblies

Soft Matter, 2021
Two minority fluorescent constituents of a multicomponent supramolecular system undergo self-sorting, mediated by their electrostatic interactions with a third non-fluorescent constituent that comprises 99 mol% of the system.

Supramolecular Assemblies for Photodynamic Therapy

Current Organic Chemistry, 2021
In recent years, supramolecular systems for nano-medicine, and in particular for photodynamic therapy, have gained great attention for their uses as smart and engineered therapeutic agents. We proposed a collection of very recent articles on supramolecular complexes for photodynamic therapy based on different photosensitizers assembled with ...

Supramolecular assemblies of carotenoids

Chirality, 2001
AbstractCarotenoid self‐assemblies were formed by aqueous dilution of ethanolic solutions. The four 3′,6′‐epimers of capsanthol ((all‐E,3R,5′R)‐3,3′,6′‐trihydroxy‐β,κ‐carotene) give rise to right‐ and left‐handed card‐pack and head‐to‐tail types of self‐assemblies detected by exciton couplets appearing in the CD spectra.

Supramolecular DNA assembly

Chemical Society Reviews, 2011
The powerful self-assembly features of DNA make it a unique template to finely organize and control matter on the nanometre scale. While DNA alone offers a high degree of fidelity in its self-assembly, a new area of research termed 'supramolecular DNA assembly' has recently emerged.

Supramolecular Assemblies of Amphiphilic Homopolymers

Langmuir, 2009
Amphiphilic molecules self-assemble in solvents because of the differential solvation of the hydrophilic and lipophilic functionalities. Small-molecule surfactants have long been known to form micelles in water that can solubilize lipophilic guest molecules in their water-excluded interior. Polymeric surfactants based on block copolymers are also known

Asymmetric Photoreactions in Supramolecular Assemblies

Accounts of Chemical Research, 2023
ConspectusStereochemical control of excited-state asymmetric photoreactions has been one of the most challenging topics of modern photochemistry. The short-lived character of electronically excited photosubstrates and their low activation energy barriers to form both enantiomers are the major obstacles to achieving significant enantioselectivity in ...
