Porphyrin–Phthalocyanine/Pyridylfullerene Supramolecular Assemblies
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2012AbstractThe synthesis and photophysical properties of several porphyrin (P)–phthalocyanine (Pc) conjugates (P–Pc; 1–3) are described, in which the phthalocyanines are directly linked to the β‐pyrrolic position of a meso‐tetraphenylporphyrin. Photoinduced energy‐ and electron‐transfer processes were studied through the preparation of H2P–ZnPc, ZnP–ZnPc,

Hemoprotein-based supramolecular assembling systems
Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2014Hemoproteins are metalloproteins which include iron porphyrin as a cofactor. These proteins have received much attention as promising building blocks for development of new types of biomaterials. This review summarizes recent efforts in the rational design of supramolecular hemoprotein assemblies using myoglobin, horseradish peroxidase, cytochrome b562

Supramolecular Assemblies of Amphiphilic Homopolymers
Langmuir, 2009Amphiphilic molecules self-assemble in solvents because of the differential solvation of the hydrophilic and lipophilic functionalities. Small-molecule surfactants have long been known to form micelles in water that can solubilize lipophilic guest molecules in their water-excluded interior. Polymeric surfactants based on block copolymers are also known

Supramolecular assembly using helical peptides
Advances in Biophysics, 1997We investigated supramolecular assemblies of various hydrophobic helical peptides. The assemblies were formed at the air/water interface or in aqueous medium. The hexadecapeptide, Boc-(Ala-Aib)s-OMe (BA16M), was reported to take alpha-helical structure by X-ray analysis.

Interactive modeling of supramolecular assemblies
Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling, 1998The modeling of supramolecular structure presents two major challenges: (1) managing the large amount of sequence, structural and biochemical data, and (2) presenting the data to the user in a flexible and comprehensible manner that addresses these problems. We describe a visualization environment for the creation and analysis of supramolecular models.

Supramolecular assembly of basement membranes
BioEssays, 1996AbstractBasement membranes are thin sheets of extracellular proteins situated in close contact with cells at various locations in the body. They have a great influence on tissue compartmentalization and cellular phenotypes from early embryonic development onwards.

Supramolecular Assemblies of Nucleoside Phosphocholine Amphiphiles
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004A family of new uridine phosphocholine amphiphiles that were prepared using a convenient four-step synthetic route is described. Physicochemical studies (differential scanning calorimetry, small-angle X-ray scattering, UV-vis and circular dichroism spectroscopies, light microscopy, transmission electronic microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy ...
