Self‐Assembled Polymeric Supramolecular Frameworks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, 2011
Within the framework: Ionic complexation of diblock copolypeptide poly(γ-benzyl-L-glutamate)-block-poly(L-lysine) (PBLG-b-PLL) with 2′-deoxyguanosine 5′-monophosphate (dGMP, gray) generates a polymeric supramolecular framework solid with self-assembled cages based on two orthogonal shape-persistent motifs: PBLG α helices (blue) and PLL β sheets (red ...

Shellac‐Mediated Assembly of Nanoparticles for mRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A shellac‐mediated nanoparticle assembly strategy is presented, involving the complexation of mRNA and low‐molecular‐weight cationic molecules (e.g., polyethyleneimine, chitosan, lipids, and poly‐l‐lysine), followed by capping with shellac. This nanoparticle platform enables mRNA transfection following intravenous injection and facilitates gene editing

Carbamazepine on a carbamazepine monolayer forms unique 1D supramolecular assemblies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
High-resolution STM imaging of the structures formed by carbamazepine molecules adsorbed onto a pseudo-ordered carbamazepine monolayer on Au(111) shows the formation of previously unreported 1-dimensional supramolecular ...

Hierarchical self-assembly of di-, tri- and tetraphenylalanine peptides capped with two fluorenyl functionalities: from polymorphs to dendrites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Homopeptides with 2, 3 and 4 phenylalanine (Phe) residues and capped with fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl and fluorenylmethyl esters at the N-terminus and C-terminus, respectively, have been synthesized to examine their self-assembly capabilities.

Assembly of a Supramolecular Capsule on a Molecular Printboard

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2004
A molecular capsule based on ionic interactions between two oppositely charged calix[4]arenes, 1 and 2, was assembled both in solution and on a surface. In solution, the formation of the equimolar assembly 1.2 was studied by (1)H NMR, ESI-MS, and isothermal titration calorimetry, giving an association constant (K(a)) of 7.5 x 10(5) M(-1).
