Triggered formation of thixotropic hydrogels by balancing competitive supramolecular synthons [PDF]
Two component hydrogels have been obtained by formation of 1:1 complexes of bis(pyridyl urea)s with a range of dicarboxylic acids. The gels are thixotropic and undergo an assembly process in which short segments can reversibly assemble into an interconnected fibrous network.

NMR investigations of the interaction between the azo-dye sunset yellow and Fluorophenol [PDF]
The interaction of small molecules with larger noncovalent assemblies is important across a wide range of disciplines. Here, we apply two complementary NMR spectroscopic methods to investigate the interaction of various fluorophenol isomers with sunset ...

Expanding Chemistry of Expanded Helicenes
This review presents recent advances in the chemistry of expanded helicenes, defined as helicenes containing linearly fused benzene rings, as novel aromatic compounds. This review begins with a summary of their structural classification, followed by the synthesis, structures, properties, and chiroptical performance of expanded helicenes of various ...

Halogen bonding stabilizes a cis-azobenzene derivative in the solid state: A crystallographic study [PDF]
Crystals of trans- and cis-isomers of a fluorinated azobenzene derivative have been prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The presence of F atoms on the aromatic core of the azobenzene increases the lifetime of the metastable ...

Tautomerism‐Coupled Self‐Assembly and Transformations of Iminopyrrole Metallacages
Four metallacages with varying size, symmetry, and nuclearity were formed via the self‐assembly of 2,5‐diformylpyrrole, tren, and zinc(II) acetate. Tautomerization of the key diiminopyrrole motif to iminoaminoazafulvene altered the assemblies’ properties.
