A2A Adenosine Receptor Agonists With Last‐Step Enzymatic 18F‐Labelling Potential (Fluorinase) for Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 5, 7 February 2026.
This study exploits the comparable binding tolerances between the fluorinase enzyme and the A2A adenosine receptor towards the development of novel C‐2 functionalised 5′‐fluorodeoxy‐adenosine (FDA)‐based agonists with enzymatic 18F‐labelling capability for positron emission tomography (PET).

Stimuli‐Responsive Afterglow from Luminescent Liquid Crystal Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 7, 2 February 2026.
An active glow luminescent system for encoding, signaling, and tracking in dark environments has been developed by integrating inorganic ultralong afterglow phosphors with adaptive liquid crystal elastomer actuators. Abstract Stimuli‐responsive luminescent polymeric materials which combine afterglow emission with mechanical flexibility and adaptability

The 1:2 co-crystal formed between N,N′-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)ethanediamide and benzoic acid: crystal structure, Hirshfeld surface analysis and computational study

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2020
The crystal and molecular structures of the title 1:2 co-crystal, C14H14N4O2·2C7H6O2, are described. The oxalamide molecule has a (+)-antiperiplanar conformation with the 4-pyridyl residues lying to either side of the central, almost planar C2N2O2 ...

Molecular Engineering for Enhanced Second‐Order Nonlinear Response in Spontaneously‐Oriented Evaporated Organic Films

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, 16 February 2026.
Intramolecular bridge‐locking frustrates detrimental anti‐parallel packing in evaporated organic films. This design enhances net polar orientation, leading to a twofold off‐resonance increase in the second‐order nonlinear susceptibility (χ(2)) without electric‐field poling.

Binary and ternary cocrystals of sulfa drug acetazolamide with pyridine carboxamides and cyclic amides

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2016
A novel design strategy for cocrystals of a sulfonamide drug with pyridine carboxamides and cyclic amides is developed based on synthon identification as well as size and shape match of coformers.

Site selectivity of halogen oxygen bonding in 5- and 6-haloderivatives of uracil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Seven 5-and 6-halogenated derivatives of uracil or 1-methyluracil (halogen = Cl, Br, I) were studied by single crystal X-ray diffraction. In contrast with pure 5-halouracils, where the presence of N-H…O and C-H…O hydrogen bonds prevents the formation ...

Easier, Safer, and Greener: Unlocking the Power of Solid Reagents in Organic Reactions by Mechanochemistry

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 2, February 2026.
This review highlights the powerful synergy between mechanochemistry and solid reagents to replace hazardous substances traditionally used in organic synthesis. Such an approach offers a safer and more sustainable pathway for conducting organic reactions, with potential benefits in both reactivity and selectivity. The use of solid bases, acids, and gas
