Supramolecular synthons in phenol–isonicotinamide adducts

CrystEngComm, 2003
Molecular complexes of four phenols (hydroquinone, resorcinol, phloroglucinol and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid) with isonicotinamide are characterized by X-ray diffraction. (Hydroquinone)0.5·(isonicotinamide) 1 and (resorcinol)·(isonicotinamide)22 have tapes of O–H⋯N and amide N–H⋯O dimer synthons.

Investigations of Metal-Coordinated Peptides as Supramolecular Synthons

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2006
This article describes the synthesis and controlled assembly of four model biological-hybrid scaffolds via coordination of a metal complex to four new tripeptides. Each model tripeptide investigated has either a central pyridyl glycyl or a pyridyl alanyl residue between two terminally protected glycines.

Amine–carboxylate supramolecular synthon in pharmaceutical cocrystals

CrystEngComm, 2018
Four novel pharmaceutical cocrystals of l-proline were obtained via combined virtual and experimental screening. The results confirm that an amine–carboxylate supramolecular synthon can be used for pharmaceutical cocrystal design.

Dimeric Metallo‐Organic Supramolecular Quinoxaline Stacking Synthons

European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2004
AbstractCondensation of ortho‐phenylene diamines with an unsymmetrical 2,6′‐bipyridyl‐2′′‐pyridyl α‐diketone (2) affords helical ligands 3a and 3b that self‐assemble in the presence of copper(I) to produce the helical, dimeric metallo‐organic complexes [3a2Cu2][PF6]2 and [3b2Cu2][PF6]2.

Supramolecular Synthons and Pattern Recognition

1998
The aims of crystal engineering are the understanding of intermolecular interactions and their application in the design of crystal structures with specific architectures and properties. In general, all types of crystal structures may be considered but this article is limited to organic molecular solids.

Gold⋯π aryl interactions as supramolecular synthons

CrystEngComm, 2009
Au⋯π interactions whereby the electron-rich π-system of C6-aromatic rings interact with gold are shown to exist in the crystal structures of both gold(I) and gold(III) complexes, and have been revealed to occur between neutral/neutral, cationic/cationic, and cationic/anionic systems.

Pb···π Aryl Interactions as Supramolecular Synthons

Australian Journal of Chemistry, 2010
A survey of lead (Pb) structures containing Pb···π aryl interactions has been conducted. Such contacts usually lead to zero- or one-dimensional aggregates with rare examples of two- and three-dimensional architectures. The Pb···π aryl interactions are found only in crystal structures containing lead(ii) centres and arise as a result of electron ...
