SURFACE ENHANCED INFRARED ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY
Infrared (IR) absorption of molecules is enhanced greatly (10 1 -10 3 times) when they are adsorbed on or near vacuum-evaporated Ag or Au thin films. By using this Surface Enhanced IR Absorption (SEIRA) phenomenon, we could obtained IR spcctra of some organic molecules of a few picogram amount in good signal-to-noise ratios.

We proposed a narrowband perfect absorber that was based on dielectric-metal metasurface for wide-band surface-enhanced infrared sensing. It is found that the narrowband perfect absorber can generate the hybrid guided modes with high quality-factor at ...

Graphene plasmonics for surface enhancement near-infrared absorptivity
Monolayer graphene has poor absorption in the near-infrared region. Its layer is only as thick as a single atom so it cannot have a high absorptivity. In this paper, in order to form a hybrid system, the absorption characteristics of monolayer graphene covering a metal/dielectric/metal substrate has been theoretically analyzed.
