Hybrid Sensor Device for Simultaneous Surface Plasmon Resonance and Surface Acoustic Wave Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and Love wave (LW) surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors have been established as reliable biosensing technologies for label-free, real-time monitoring of biomolecular interactions.

Complex for experimental research of elastic wave interactions with ice layer [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
An adjustable pneumatic generator of acoustic signals with shock excitation was developed. Measuring and computing complex was also created to investigate elastic acoustic wave propagation along ice surface.

Unidirectional Distributed Acoustic Reflection Transducers for Quantum Applications

open access: yes, 2019
Recent significant advances in coupling superconducting qubits to acoustic wave resonators has led to demonstrations of quantum control of surface and bulk acoustic resonant modes as well Wigner tomography of quantum states in these modes. These advances

Coupling light into graphene plasmons through surface acoustic waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We propose a scheme for coupling laser light into graphene plasmons with the help of electrically generated surface acoustic waves. The surface acoustic wave forms a diffraction grating which allows to excite the long lived phonon-like branch of the ...

High‐Throughput Exfoliation of Optoelectronic‐Grade MoS2 via Turbulent‐Flow Wet Jet Milling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable wet jet milling exfoliation method is demonstrated for producing optoelectronic‐grade MoS2 nanosheets using environmentally friendly ethyl cellulose in ethanol dispersion media. Guided by fluid dynamics modeling, this approach is optimized to achieve record‐high exfoliation throughput and concentration.

Preliminary Performance Assessment of the Wave Parameter Retrieval Algorithm from the Average Reflected Pulse

open access: yesRemote Sensing
To obtain new information about surface waves, it is proposed to use an underwater acoustic wave gauge, and an assessment of its effectiveness can be performed using a numerical simulation and field experiment.

Combined surface acoustic wave and surface plasmon resonance measurement of collagen and fibrinogen layer physical properties

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research, 2016
We use an instrument combining optical (surface plasmon resonance) and acoustic (Love mode surface acoustic wave device) real-time measurements on a same surface for the identification of water content in collagen and fibrinogen protein layers.

Surface acoustic wave coupling between micromechanical resonators

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2022
As the size of mechanical resonators is decreased, their resonance frequencies increase and acoustic wave-like propagation in their substrate becomes important.

Annular interdigital transducer focuses piezoelectric surface waves to a single point [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We propose and demonstrate experimentally the concept of the annular interdigital transducer that focuses acoustic waves on the surface of a piezoelectric material to a single, diffraction-limited, spot.

Unlocking Multi‐Valley Energy Pockets and Interface‐Induced Phonon Filtering in InSb Thermoelectrics by Reaction‐Driven Interface Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
InSb, a narrow‐bandgap semiconductor with high carrier mobility, is promising for thermoelectric energy conversion but suffers from high lattice thermal conductivity and strong bipolar conduction. Here, in situ interface engineering using Co2O3 nanoprecursors forms hierarchical CoSbx/In2O3/CoSb3 heterostructures that enhance phonon scattering and ...
