Surface acoustic wave (SAW) techniques in tissue engineering

Cell and Tissue Research, 2021
Recently, the introduction of surface acoustic wave (SAW) technique for microfluidics has drawn a lot of attention. The pattern and mutual communication in cell layers, tissues, and organs play a critical role in tissue homeostasis and regeneration and may contribute to disease occurrence and progression.

Precision surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) oscillators

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1988
The evolution of SAW oscillator technology over the past 17 years is described and a review of the current state of the art for high-performance SAW oscillators is presented. This review draws heavily upon the authors' own experience and efforts, which have focused upon the development of a wide variety of SAW oscillators in response to numerous high ...

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) biosensors

2010 53rd IEEE International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010
This paper reports an overview of biosensor technologies employing surface acoustic wave (SAW) principles for detection of biomarkers. First, the field of biosensors will be introduced in a broader framework through a general survey of the most popular transduction mechanisms in current biosensor research. Secondly, SAW based piezoelectric transduction

Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Gas Sensors

1992
In recent years there has been a great interest in using surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices for the detection of both physical and chemical quantities. The SAWs in the field of sensors give rise to an interesting basic detecting technique since the mechanism of interaction between the acoustic propagation, which induces the sensor response, includes ...

Surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) flow sensor

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1991
The use of a surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) device to measure the rate of gas flow is described. A SAW oscillator heated to a suitable temperature above ambient is placed in the path of a flowing gas. Convective cooling caused by the gas flow results in a change in the oscillator frequency.
