The Temperature and Opacity of Atomic Hydrogen in Spiral Galaxies [PDF]
We analyze the resolved neutral hydrogen emission properties of a sample of eleven of the nearest spiral galaxies. Between 60 and 90% of the total HI line flux within the optical disk is due to a high brightness network (HBN) of emission features which ...

Subcutaneous implantation of murine Panc02 pancreatic cancer cells depleted of sST2, a soluble decoy receptor for the proinflammatory interleukin‐33 (IL‐33), leads to a decreased number of GLUT4‐positive cancer‐associated adipocytes, reduced levels of the anti‐inflammatory molecule adiponectin, increased phosphorylation of IκBα, elevated Cxcl3 ...

Search for IR Emission from Intracluster Dust in A2029
We have searched for IR emission from the intracluster dust (ICD) in the galaxy cluster A2029. Weak signals of enhanced extended emission in the cluster are detected at both 24 and 70 micron. However, the signals are indistinguishable from the foreground

Optical Surface Brightness Fluctuations of Shell Galaxies toward 100 Mpc [PDF]
We measure F814W Surface Brightness Fluctuations (SBF) for a sample of distant shell galaxies with radial velocities ranging from 4000 to 8000 km/s. The distance at galaxies is then evaluated by using the SBF method. For this purpose, theoretical SBF magnitudes for the ACS@HST filters are computed for single burst stellar populations covering a wide ...

In Vitro Modeling of Natural Killer Cell Cytotoxicity to Inform Personalized ALS Therapeutics
ABSTRACT Objective Natural killer (NK) cells might contribute to motor neuron death in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) through direct cytotoxicity, a process that could be inhibited with the FDA‐approved JAK/STAT pathway inhibitor, tofacitinib. This study aimed to verify that tofacitinib can suppress NK cell cytotoxicity, investigate if immune cell

The regenerative potential of adipose tissue‐derived stem cells can be enhanced through chemical stimulation in vitro. A short stimulation protocol using forskolin, either alone or in combination with other growth factors, under xeno‐free conditions enhanced the pro‐angiogenic responses in human ASCs.

Targeting RAGE with Nanobodies for Molecular Imaging of Cancers and Alzheimer's Disease
RAGE‐specific nanobodies were isolated via phage display and characterized by ELISA, cell ELISA, and SPR. In vivo imaging in renal carcinoma and Alzheimer's disease mouse models demonstrated that NbF8, the highest‐affinity clone, selectively targeted RAGE‐overexpressing tumors and brain tissues, highlighting its potential as a molecular imaging agent ...

CHEX-MATE: Turbulence in the intra-cluster medium from X-ray surface brightness fluctuations [PDF]
The intra-cluster medium is prone to turbulent motion that will contribute to the non-thermal heating of the gas, complicating the use of galaxy clusters as cosmological probes.

Using supramolecular monomers, various hydrogel culture systems were formulated to culture protoplasts; including 2D, 2.5D, and 3D hydrogels. Depending on the culture platform, bioactive functionalization led to protoplast enlargement (2D and 2.5D) or plasmolysis (3D). This work shows the potential to modularly engineer synthetic platforms for cellular
