UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Detection of surface defects in metals: a case study

Several approaches can be used to find defects in metal surfaces. Eddy current testing is a simple and efficient method for non-destructive testing of metals, identifying alloys, measuring coating thickness, and detecting corrosion. Impedance spectroscopy enables depth profiling and high-speed measurements in real-time manufacturing.

ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.
