Dilational Rheology of Fluid/Fluid Interfaces: Foundations and Tools [PDF]
Fluid/fluid interfaces are ubiquitous in science and technology, and hence, the understanding of their properties presents a paramount importance for developing a broad range of soft interface dominated materials, but also for the elucidation of ...

Adsorption and viscoelastic properties of chitosan lactate at the liquid-gas interface [PDF]
The surface tension and dilational rheological properties (viscoelasticity modulus and phase angle) of chitosan lactate solutions at the liquid-gas interface are investigated by the oscillating drop shape method.

Bacteria Cell Hydrophobicity and Interfacial Properties Relationships: A New MEOR Approach [PDF]
For microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR), different mechanisms have been introduced. In some of these papers, the phenomena and mechanisms related to biosurfactants produced by certain microorganisms were discussed, while others studied the direct ...

Influence of surfactants on the electrohydrodynamic stretching of water drops in oil [PDF]
In this paper we present experimental and numerical studies of the electrohydrodynamic stretching of a sub-millimetre-sized salt water drop, immersed in oil with added non-ionic surfactant, and subjected to a suddenly applied electric field of magnitude ...

Evaluating the Impact of Hydrophobic Silicon Dioxide in the Interfacial Properties of Lung Surfactant Films [PDF]
CRUE-CSIC (Acuerdos Transformativos 2022)The interaction of hydrophobic silicon dioxide particles (fumed silicon dioxide), as model air pollutants, and Langmuir monolayers of a porcine lung surfactant extract has been studied in order to try to shed ...

β-Lactoglobulin Adsorption Layers at the Water/Air Surface: 5. Adsorption Isotherm and Equation of State Revisited, Impact of pH [PDF]
The theoretical description of the adsorption of proteins at liquid/fluid interfaces suffers from the inapplicability of classical formalisms, which soundly calls for the development of more complicated adsorption models. A Frumkin-type thermodynamic 2-

A study is made of the surface waves in a higher order visco‐elastic solid involving time rate of change of strain and stress under the influence of gravity. A fairly general equation for the wave velocity is derived. This equation is used to examine various kinds of surface waves including Rayleigh waves, Love waves and Stoneley waves.

First Approach to Measure Interfacial Rheology at High-Pressure Conditions by the Oscillating Drop Technique [PDF]
An oscillating drop rheometer capable of operating under conditions of high pressure and high temperature has been built. The oscillating drop mechanism was able to support pressures as high as 1300 bar and successfully performed oscillations at constant

Statics and Dynamics of Adhesion between Two Soap Bubbles [PDF]
9 pagesInternational audienceAn original set-up is used to study the adhesive properties of two hemispherical soap bubbles put into contact. The contact angle at the line connecting the three films is extracted by image analysis of the bubbles profiles ...
