Potential energy surfaces for gas-surface reactions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2011
A method for constructing the potential energy surface for reactions of a molecule with the surface of cleaved non-conducting crystals is reported. The method uses systematic fragmentation to express the total potential in terms of potential energy surfaces which describe reactions of relatively small molecules in the gas phase.

Monolithic Integration of Semi-Transparent and Flexible Integrated Image Sensor Array with a-IGZO Thin-Film Transistors (TFTs) and p-i-n Hydrogenated Amorphous Silicon Photodiodes

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
A novel approach to fabricating a transparent and flexible one-transistor–one-diode (1T-1D) image sensor array on a flexible colorless polyimide (CPI) film substrate is successfully demonstrated with laser lift-off (LLO) techniques.

Surface plasmon modes and the Casimir energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We show the influence of surface plasmons on the Casimir effect between two plane parallel metallic mirrors at arbitrary distances. Using the plasma model to describe the optical response of the metal, we express the Casimir energy as a sum of ...

Regulating solid electrolyte interphase film on fluorine‐doped hard carbon anode for sodium‐ion battery

open access: yesCarbon Energy
For the performance optimization strategies of hard carbon, heteroatom doping is an effective way to enhance the intrinsic transfer properties of sodium ions and electrons for accelerating the reaction kinetics.

Secondary-Structure Design of Proteins by a Backbone Torsion Energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We propose a new backbone-torsion-energy term in the force field for protein systems. This torsion-energy term is represented by a double Fourier series in two variables, the backbone dihedral angles phi and psi.

Polar plots of diamond surface energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Diamond surface energy sigma_hkl determines crystal habit. We discuss three aspects of a paper by Terentiev (1991). Firstly, we compare Terentiev's algorithm for exact sigma_hkl with the analytic solution for h

Impact of surface phenomena on direct bulk flexoelectric effect in finite samples

open access: yes, 2015
In the framework of a continuum theory, it is shown that the direct flexoelectric response of a finite sample essentially depends on the surface polarization energy, even in the thermodynamic limit where the body size tends to infinity.

Vacuum Energy and Casimir Force in a Presence of Skin-depth Dependent Boundary Condition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The vacuum energy-momentum tensor (EMT) and the vacuum energy corresponding to massive scalar field on $\Re_{t}\times [0,l] \times \Re^{D-2}$ space-time with boundary condition involving a dimensional parameter ($\delta$) are found.
