THE FORMATION OF TiO NANOCLUSTERS IN THE SURFACE LASER PLASMA WHEN TITANIUM AND BARIUM TITANATE ARE SUBJECTED TO THE EFFECT OF DOUBLE LASER PULSES [PDF]
The effect of an additional laser pulse on the formation of the composition and charge state of the surface laser plasma was studied by the laser spark spectrometry (LSS) method.

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

SYNTHESIS OF THE ZINC OXIDE NANOCLUSTERS DOPED WITH COPPER FROM ORTHOPHOSPHATE SALTS IN POROUS SAMPLES ON LASER ABLATION [PDF]
Spectroscopic studies of the surface laser plasma formed close to the porous body containing nanoquantities of different zinc and copper salts under the effect of two successive pulses have been performed.

A Remote Laser Mass Spectrometer for Lunar Resource Assessment [PDF]
The use of lasers as a source of excitation for surface mass spectroscopy has been investigated for some time. Since the laser can be focused to a small spot with intensity, it can vaporize and accelerate atoms of material.

Plasma Formation Dynamics in Intense Laser-Droplet Interaction
We study the ionization dynamics in intense laser-droplet interaction using three-dimensional, relativistic particle-in-cell simulations. Of particular interest is the laser intensity and frequency regime for which initially transparent, wavelength-sized

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...

This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.
