Surface Stress and Surface Tension in Polymeric Networks
ACS Macro Letters, 2018Understanding of how surface properties could change upon deformation is of paramount importance for controlling adhesion, friction, and lubrication of soft polymeric materials (i.e., networks and gels). Here, we use a combination of the theoretical calculations and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations to study surface stress dependence on ...

Surface Coverage in Sensor Networks
IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2014Coverage is a fundamental problem in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Conventional studies on this topic focus on 2D ideal plane coverage and 3D full space coverage. The 3D surface of a field of interest (FoI) is complex in many real-world applications. However, existing coverage studies do not produce practical results. In this paper, we propose a new

Surface Interpolation Networks
Neural Computation, 1993Orthogonal wavelets can be used as models for receptive fields in the human visual system. They may also be used to solve spatial interpolation problems formulated either as regularization or 2-D Kalman filtering. The solutions take the form of simple feedback networks, and only a few iterations are required for convergence.

Localization of Networks on 3D Terrain Surfaces
IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, 2022Many real world applications require large-scale sensor networks deployed on the surface of a complex 3D terrain. Compared with planar and 3D network localizations, terrain surface network localization generates unique and fundamental hardness. We explore 3D surface network localization with terrain models.
