Photonic Crystal Fiber-Based Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor with Selective Analyte Channels and Graphene-Silver Deposited Core

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2015
We propose a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with selectively filled analyte channels. Silver is used as the plasmonic material to accurately detect the analytes and is coated with a thin graphene layer to ...

Label‐Free and Low‐Power Driven Cancer Biomarker Detection Enabled by 2D Hexagonal Titanium Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A low‐power driven FET biosensor based on 2D hexagonal TiO2 detects the cancer biomarker carcinoembryonic antigen with high sensitivity, a low detection limit of 0.22 pg mL−1, and excellent selectivity. Leveraging the unique electronic properties of the material, this work demonstrates strong potential for integration into miniature and portable cancer

Surface plasmon resonance sensor based on D-shaped microstructured optical fiber with hollow core.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
To solve the phase matching and analyte filling problems in the microstructured optical fiber (MOF)-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors, we present the D-shaped hollow core MOF-based SPR sensor.

Dual Optical Hyperbolicity of PdCoO2 and PdCrO2 Delafossite Single Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, the hyperbolic response of PdCoO₂ and PdCrO₂ delafossites is investigated for the first time. They exhibit dual hyperbolic regimes, one localized around a phonon absorption in the mid‐infrared spectral region, and the other extending into the visible range.

Ultrafast Surface-Plasmon Enhancement of Exciton and Defect Luminescence in ZnO Thin Films

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Femtosecond pump-probe and photoluminescence measurements in transmission and reflection show that ultraviolet band-edge and visible defect luminescence in ZnO films can be selectively enhanced by coupling to Ag surface-plasmon polaritons or localized ...

Surface Plasmon Excitation and Localization by Metal-Coated Axicon Prism

open access: yesMicromachines, 2012
Collimated Gaussian beams are efficiently localized at the apex of a metal-coated axicon prism by surface plasmon excitations. We observed the light scattered at the apex and the light reflected by the prism. Intense scattered light was observed with the
