Formalism for Multiphoton Plasmon Excitation in Jellium Clusters

open access: yes, 2002
We present a new formalism for the description of multiphoton plasmon excitation processes in jellium clusters. By using our method, we demonstrate that, in addition to dipole plasmon excitations, the multipole plasmons (quadrupole, octupole, etc) can be

Exploring the Potential of Zero‐Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials in Photoluminescent, Electrochemiluminescent and Electrochemical Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials are presented as multifunctional platforms linking structure, property, and sensing performance. Surface engineering and heteroatom doping modulate electron‐transfer and luminescent behavior, enabling electrochemical, photoluminescent, and electrochemiluminescent detection. Fundamental design principles, analytical

Crack Repair in Hydroxyapatite Bioceramics Using an Ultraviolet Ultrafast Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The study proposes an ultrafast ultraviolet laser approach to repair hidden tooth cracks, which has been preliminarily validated on HAP. Moreover, this technique aims to strengthen the native enamel structure rather than introducing a foreign filling material.

Surface plasmons in terahertz metamaterials

open access: yesOptics Express, 2008
We characterize terahertz metamaterials by applying apertureless near-field microscopy with a bandwidth that covers the entire spectral response of the structures. The observations agree with the interpretation of the fundamental mode of the metamaterial. But the high frequency resonance shows properties that deviate from the common interpretation.

Non‐Continuous Iridescent Variable Structural Color Based on Metallic Surface Periodic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study presents an ink‐free laser nanofabrication technique that generates periodic arched microstructures on titanium surfaces, achieving non‐continuous iridescent dual‐color switching. The ridge and side flanks of these structures possess distinct oxide film thicknesses, enabling angle‐dependent selective reflection of specific wavelengths.

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

Surface Plasmon Excitation and Localization by Metal-Coated Axicon Prism

open access: yesMicromachines, 2012
Collimated Gaussian beams are efficiently localized at the apex of a metal-coated axicon prism by surface plasmon excitations. We observed the light scattered at the apex and the light reflected by the prism. Intense scattered light was observed with the

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Holography utilizing surface plasmon resonances [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
A holographic recording medium with a substrate which has a diffraction grating composed of a number of spaced line ridges on the surface is discussed. The first layer consists of a metal with a plasma wavelength shorter than that of the selected light ...
