Plasmonic modes in thin films: quo vadis?
Herein, we discuss the status and the prospect of plasmonic modes in thin films. Plasmons are collective longitudinal modes of charge fluctuation in metal samples excited by an external electric field.

Surface Plasmon Driven Electric and Magnetic Resonators for Metamaterials
Using interplay between surface plasmons and metamaterials, we propose a new technique for novel metamaterial designs. We show that surface plasmons existing on thin metal surfaces can be used to "drive" non-resonant structures in their vicinity to ...

Femtosecond surface plasmon interferometry
We demonstrate femtosecond plasmonic interferometry with a novel geometry. The plasmonic microinterferometer consists of a tilted slit-groove pair. This arrangement allows for (i) interferometric measurements at a single wavelength with a single microinterferometer and (ii) unambiguous discrimination between changes in real and imaginary parts of the ...

Implantable optoelectrical devices are an effective resource for the modulation and monitoring of neural activity with high spatiotemporal resolution. This review discusses current challenges faced by these devices and outlines future perspectives for the development of next‐generation neural interfaces targeting chronic, multisite, and multimodal ...

Detecting non-Markovian plasmonic band gaps in quantum dots using electron transport
Placing a quantum dot close to a metal nanowire leads to drastic changes in its radiative decay behavior because of evanescent couplings to surface plasmons.

A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Enhancement of the transverse non-reciprocal magneto-optical effect
The origin and properties of the transverse non-reciprocal magneto-optical (nMO) effect were studied. The transverse nMO effect occurs in the case when light propagates perpendicularly to the magnetic field.

A tunable bifunctional surface is developed by combining Fc‐binding peptides and RGD motifs to present oriented antibodies alongside integrin‐mediated signaling. The platform selectively captures endothelial colony‐forming cells while promoting their adhesion and proliferation.

Surface magneto plasmons and their applications in the infrared frequencies
Due to their promising properties, surface magneto plasmons have attracted great interests in the field of plasmonics recently. Apart from flexible modulation of the plasmonic properties by an external magnetic field, surface magneto plasmons
