A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Surface deformation resulting from subduction and slab detachment

open access: yes, 2000
Convergence of lithospheric plates is accommodated at active margins by one plate moving beneath the other into the Earth's mantle. Changes in this subduction process may cause variations in the topography of the Earth's surface near a convergent plate

Interrill soil erosion processes and their interaction on low slopes

open access: yes, 2007
Soil erosion by water is mostly the result of rainfall-driven and runoff-driven processes taking place simultaneously during a storm event. However, the effect of interaction between these two erosion processes has received limited attention.

Geospatial green ammonia co-firing in China’s coal power fleets to avoid CO2 emissions lock-in

open access: yesNature Communications
China’s 600 gigawatts (GW) of post-2010 coal power capacity locks in over 2 gigatons (Gt) of annual CO₂ emissions. Green ammonia co-firing offers a viable decarbonization pathway, yet spatial mismatch between ammonia production hubs and coal power plants

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

The geomorphology of coarse clastic surfaces in arid environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This study explores the linkages between slope form and slope process in arid environments. In doing so, questions of the development of slopes in arid environments are examined.

Process, Causes, and Loss Assessment of the Extreme Wind-Dust Compound Disaster in China in April 2025

open access: yesInternational Journal of Disaster Risk Science
From 10 to 15 April 2025, China experienced a rare persistent extreme wind-dust compound disaster that swept from north to south. Based on observational data, historical disaster records, and situations of various exposed elements, this study analyzed ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

The effects of machining process variables and tooling characterisation on the surface generation: modelling, simulation and application promise

open access: yes, 2005
The paper presents a novel approach for modelling and simulation of the surface generation in the machining process. The approach, by integrating dynamic cutting force model, regenerative vibration model, machining system response model and tool profile ...
