A property of complete minimal surfaces [PDF]
If M M is a complete minimal surface in R n {R^n} , we denote by W W the set of points in R n {R^n} that do not lie on any tangent plane of M M .

A numerical approach for fluid deformable surfaces with conserved enclosed volume [PDF]
We consider surface finite elements and a semi-implicit time stepping scheme to simulate fluid deformable surfaces. Such surfaces are modeled by incompressible surface Navier-Stokes equations with bending forces. Here, we consider closed surfaces and enforce conservation of the enclosed volume.

Uniformization of surfaces with boundary and the application to the triple junction surfaces with negative Euler characteristic [PDF]
The conformal structure on minimal surfaces plays a key role in studying the properties of minimal surfaces. Here we extend the results of uniformization of surfaces with boundary to get the (weak) uniformization results for triple junction surfaces.

Nanomechanical properties of rough surfaces [PDF]
The nanoindentation technique allows the determination of mechanical properties at nanometric scale. Hardness (H) and elastic modulus (E) profiles are usually determined by using the Oliver-Pharr method from the load/unload curves. This approach is valid only for flat surfaces, or at least, when a very low degree of asperity is present (lower than 30 ...

The influence of water repellent products on the chromatic modifications of the ceramic brick
Chromatic variation, colour and luminosity, undergone by the ceramic support protected by the incorporation of a treatment with water repellent products, is analysed. A new methodology is suggested, based on RGB model where quantifiable values from each

Long-term osseointegration of laser-ablated hearing implants in sheep cranial bone
Osseointegration, the ability for an implant to be anchored in bone tissue with direct bone-implant contact and allowing for continuous adaptive remodelling, is clinically used in different reconstructive fields, such as dentistry, orthopedics and ...
