Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

Improvements on Surface Quality of EDMed Surfaces

Surface Engineering, 2003
The traditional method of producing a free form shape by Electro discharge machining (EDM) is to produce the form on the tool and plunge this tool into the workpiece. One drawback however, is the cost and wear of these tools, particularly when producing complex shapes.

Surface Mesh Qualities

Proceedings of the International Conference on Computer Graphics Theory and Applications and International Conference on Information Visualization Theory and Applications, 2013
3D surface models are often stored as indexed face sets, whereas algorithms can typically treat only a subset of the so-representable surfaces. Besides this gap between "potential" input and "allowed" input, more and more algorithms specify their input requirements at a high level of abstraction (e.g.

Quality Control of Manufactured Surfaces

2010
Recent literature on statistical process monitoring pointed out that the quality of products and processes can be often related to profiles, where the function relating a response to one or more location variables (in time or space) is the quality characteristic of interest.

Determination of Product Surface Quality

2006 IEEE 14th Signal Processing and Communications Applications, 2006
Physical changes in the product surface can be determined by using digital image processing and laser scanning techniques. In this study, how to determine surface quality of the product by using both two techniques is investigated. Car bonnet is choosed as the product.

Surface quality of intraocular lenses

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1989
We observed circular furrow-like patterns on the implanted intraocular lens surface in postoperative follow-up examination by specular microscopy. The patterns may have been deep lathe-cut marks or compression-related marks on the optics. Specular microscopy, polarized light microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy detected a similar circular mark ...

Surface Quality Prediction in Aluminum Extrusion

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
The surface quality of aluminium extrusion products can be hampered by undesired surface features like die lines and pickups. In particular the presence of pickups is considered as undesirable. Surface pickups appear as intermittent torn marks on the aluminium extrusion products, often terminated with a protruding lump rising above the surface up to ...
